Last home game of the season .

We stayed up wow .

On the whole its being another very poor season but i will applaud Aspin and his backroom staff and Rudgie ,they have done there best as have the limited players .

Dont usually enjoy last home games at home as Vale very rarely win them probably the best a 7-2home win v Morecambe and worst well to many mention .

The fans support id applaud .

Team well lets c something different why not Harness in Tonges position by Hannant with Turner and Pope up top .

Chance to play the players who will be staying next season and use some of the young players to see how they react to first team football.

Agreed. You never know until you play them. I'll never forget watching Brian Mills' full debut at home. Looked a real prospect. So unfortunate that he had to retire.

I'd be using these last two games to play players that are ours/will probably be here next season, including a few of the younger lads. So for me Howe at the back with Smith, Turner up top with Pope. Reeves in middle maybe? The stone may already be cast for him though as he never even makes the bench.

Looks like Angus may be in the squad for this game. Makes sense to have recalled him as Tamworth are down if we're planning on giving him some exposure to league football for the remaining 2 games. Would like to see him on the left, Worral on the right, with Pope up top and Hannant playing just behind Pope. I suspect that is what Aspin will be looking at for next season, utilising Angus' pace to get in behind off Popey's flicks, with Hannant and Worral pushing on also.

I would suggest that aside from the loan defenders that we shouldn't be consdiering starting the loan signings in midfield or up front for the next 2 games.

I don't know Angus's best position, is it up front, off a striker or coming in off the wing?

Agree, hence why I haven't included Whitfield. I think he can play either up top or on either wing, from what I recall

My team for Saturday:

4-3-2-1: Hornby; Davis, Smith, Howe, Gibbons; Worrall, Kay, Hannant; Turner, Whitfield; Pope.

Apart from Whitfield (loan) and Turner (contract) they're all definitely our players for next season. I think the bench will be interesting too. Hopefully we'll see the likes of Reeves, Calveley, Angus etc. there. Apart from Kelly are there any of the other young lads on loan (Dennis, Walford etc.)?

It's such a shame that Montano is injured because him on the left and Gibbo on the right and that side actually looks decent. Just shows that if we can halve the squad and add more quality there's a good foundation to build from.

Why would we get a points deduction? Enlighten me please as when was the last time an english football league club got a points deduction for fan's causing trouble on the pitch. Will not happen, end of.

Normally I would agree but aren’t there 3 other FA investigations into the behaviour of our fans at present? We need to tread carefully maybe

I get where you're going with this, and I agree.

But you do know Aspins best mate Tonge will be in the starting 11. And Pugh as well...

I think (hope) this week we won't see all 3 in the starting 11. Theres no need. We're safe. May as well go all out attack now.
