Match Thread; Port Vale v Carlisle United

Young people arent in the habit of learning off old people, they learn from their mistakes, just like every single generation that went before.

I dont think football hooliganism is growing here either, it has got less and less commonplace over the years but I dont think you will ever to be able to stop young drunk lads wanting to fight, its part of growing up for some.

Why learn from mistakes when good advice can help young people, if only as a mentor. Mistakes are costly. In terms of hooligans just look at Vale v Crewe, West Ham, Liverpool v Roma etc. There are many Ultra groups in Europe. Not saying it’s reached mass proportions as yet but we need to cut it out. Vale could easily face fines in excess of £50,000 for relatively small sins.

For what it's worth I hate weed, or smoking it at least, and struggle to understand its attraction. It stinks and the smell is disgusting! Apart from that its use fuels the black economy and the anti-social criminal activity that goes with it.

I think the point being made about the yob element is that they have little social conscience and a general disregard for the law; they're more likely to have had a snort of coke than a joint before kicking off anyway!

To get back to the thread topic, I hope to see Dan Turner and possibly Dior Angus get some game time tomorrow and maybe even anyone else Aspo is thinking of as possibles for next season. We would like to win but as that isn't essential any more the game should be used as a learning exercise.

Nothing on the game today , think most the players have given what they have got and deserve to be clapped for their efforts albeit in a poor season with other players improving and settling into new roles like monty (what a turn around) - hannant- made the transition to a starting 11- plus the younger lads who have had to work under extreme pressure--

Last but not least the management team worthy of applause certainy the diff between us n chesterfield ...

Vale team today:

Hornby

Gibbons, Smith, Howkins, Pugh

Angus, Kay, Hannant, Whitfield

Turner, Pope

Subs: Howe, David, Barnett, Boot, Calveley, Tonge, Benns

Not sure how this will line up - it will be interesting to see if Angus or Turner is upfront. Interesting bench too.
