I didn't go Saturday but I am very pleased to read that Pope seems to be getting back to his best. I hope to see it continue at Morecambe tomorrow. Criticism of his early season form has been justified in my opinion.

Criticism of Pope is unfounded in my view,in Adams book he talks about playing him as a number 9 with crosses coming into the box.

 

Aspin has recognised this and its no coincidence that his form has improved because hes not asked to run round like a headless chicken.

 

Accusations that he's not fit are also pathetic,and a slur on a player who gives his all for the team.

Any criticism of Pope was justified along with pretty much 90% of the others.

However seeing as this thread is about Pope I'll stick to topic.

Brown is more and more looking culpable for the way that Pope and the team played. As someone pointed out it isn't all since Aspo took over that he has improved it is since Brown left.

Pope is now looking more likely to notch. Is it 4 in 6 now having gone about 10 without a goal including cup games.

I hope that this continues and maybe some of the Brown apologists will acknowledge that he hadn't got a clue.

One swallow doesn't make a summer but the signs are a lot more encouraging for us and Pope can be an integral part if the team continues to play to his strengths.
