Thats rubbish he left Vale in 1999, went to Stoke as DoF i n 1999, left Stoke in 2013 and had a job with Hull as a scout up untill recently so contacts at a higher level than we are now.

Rudge was employed by Hull until 8 months ago. In that sense he's been away from football for less time than Micky.

I dont for one second believe it will happen but if we got a Rudge/Aspin dream team who were supported to help us survive this seaosn and push on next, then smurf will go up in my estimations in making up for the ridiculous decision of the last few years. SOme may not like that, but such a partnership woul dbe the best thing that happened to us since, well since rudge left.

Like i said, i can imagine aspin coming, which is something ive argued for a while now, but both of them seems to good to happen to vale.
