Rudgie told radio Stoke this evening that he would gladly help the club in any way he can, he has recently left Hull City and is available, surely if Norman is looking for a man upstairs, there's no better man than him, go on Norman give him a ring

Dear god no. He's a thousand years old, and towards the end was absolutely dire. In any capacity, he'd be a disaster. He's just left Hull after all, and we know how they got on last season. Let's just get past ex-Vale players and managers, for heaven's sake.

Plus, my experience of the bloke is that he's .

Give me Rudgie for DOF over Micky Adams every time. I have very painful memories of the boring hoof ball we played under Micky's last spell in charge.

A thousand years old ? He's only two years older than Harry Redknapp & Roy Hodgson

Without going into particulars, I found him to be quite unsavoury after a drink. And on a professional note, I think - and always have - that he was blessed with great players and limited tactical nouse.

The season we didn't make the playoffs in division 1, we were the best team in the league.

Anyone who is disrespectful of JR is either not old enough to remember what a great manager he was and what truly great times he brought to Vale or they are not really Vale fans!

Of course, and Dean Glover gets the respect he deserves on here, doesn't he. I'm enough of a vale fan to have been to most games during his tenure, and old enough to remember that injuries forced him to pick Ian Taylor, he preferred Dean Stokes to Allan tankard, and had the good fortune to be able to sign good players for good money.
