What the hell!! That's madness to even go there to be honest

Two games and a poxy league cup game and we're doing averages laughable come back with the averages after 10 games I might think about them then but only might!! Too much watching sky sports in my opinion

We will be ok even if we just do mid table this year

Just a simple fact that teams who average more shots than their opponents tend to finish higher in the table. There are one or two exceptions (Reading somehow got to the play off final last season despite looking like they got dominated most weeks) but it's something that we can't continue to ignore given it's been this way for us since the beginning of last season. Sincerely hope that when we do revisit the data after 10 matches that the picture looks different, but I wouldn't bet on it. If we continue to average three shots on target all season then it won't be a fun 9 months.

Remarkably even a draw last Saturday would of seen us sitting in 2nd place behind Coventry.

When we last won promotion we had 3 points from 2 games. No time for panic stations, what worries most of us is the manner of the defeat/ performance not the actual fact that we did lose.

I agree in some respects but if I could name 10 sides finish above us or 9 as we might finish 10th lol I'd go the bookies and whack a tenner on it!

We're just a league two side now so it's like Leeds saying they deserve to be premiership but you only go up if you're good enough although we are smaller still the same you and a few others think we are still league 1 standard just wake up and realise we're not now and we're hopefully building towards that

I would expect-

Swindon

Chesterfield

Coventry

Mansfield

Wycombe

Luton

Lincoln

All to finish above us based on money, manager and current squad. Maybe even throw Crewe into there as well. David Artell makes Brown look like the old guy chatting about the old days of laced balls and baggy shorts with his preparation and game management.

I'm sorry but who is there in this division? Mansfield Town put together a good manager and a good squad, Coventry are a big club but with horrific ownership. What ten clubs in this division can you name that should be finishing above us? The four teams coming down from League One will be bigger than those promoted out of League Two, Tranmere will likely come out of the National League. Why have we signed 31+ year olds Kay, Pope, Barnett and Tonge if this season we are happy with mid-table and trying to build a squad to get promoted in 2019?

I'm with you. Yes it's very early in the season and we might be slow burners and get better as the season goes on, but then again we might not and it might be a long struggle.

My worry is that Brown has assembled his own squad now so I will accept no excuses. Early signs are, as you rightly pointed out, that we're going to struggle against a lot of teams, both in terms of scoring goals and keeping clean sheets.

I said 15th at the start of season but I'm not sure I'm as optimistic as that now.

Because they're all we could get? (I'll exclude Pope, different case with the Vale being his team). Even if it's not quite the point you're making, you're right - with all the thirtysomethings and loans this is not a squad built for the long term. The worry is it's not one that'll take us straight back up either, in which case we start again in a year's time.

Well yes, if he was building a young squad and slowly building a playing style that you could see developing over time then I'd say ok let's give the project a couple of seasons. Signs of progress would be acceptable, but so far we haven't really seen any improvements from when he took charge last Christmas.

It's for sure everything in the garden isn't rosy but how you can say we are going to struggle to score goals when we have scored 5 in 2 league games baffles me.

You can though. It's kind of similar to Bruno's start last season, scoring goals but with our only chances. Not a bad thing, but we aren't creating much, against Wycombe there was the turner chance which he scored and then a belter from Whitfield.

I am struggling to find the motivation for the EFL season ticket for this. 3-0 down at home last week. Is it worth it? It is bad enough watching Sky Sports News never mind watching the disappointment unfold before me. Prove me wrong and make me regret not signing up lads!!!

Heart says 0-0, head says 3-0 or worse.

3-1 to Vale at Chesterfield!

Lets deal in facts, the fact is we have scored 5 goals in 2 matches,it doesn't matter how many chances we get if we put them away we are not struggling to score goals at the moment, how long this will last ?

How long's a piece of string ?

Well ive being this fixture four out of last five away meets .

To say ive seen some rubbish would be a understatement .

2-2 in promotion season Purse and Pope were the highlight the other 3 times 3-0 defeat when Morsy and Roberts were amazing for them but no one was for us.

A 4-2 after controlling the first half and leading through a aj leitch goal Hooper scored agood goal in that game but we were abysmal.

Last season well no goal attempts and a nothing performance.

So ive decided im going Kidsgrove beer festival and giving the Vale game a very wide berth as i cannot stand another miserable journey back from Derbyshire.

Im hearing theres a good following going so i hope they r rewarded with blood on the shirts ,die hard effort and committment desire and no little skill.

I guess you missed our 5-0 away win there, not that long ago, 2008 or 2009 or so ?

I know a Swindon supporter and he reckons they haven't got a pot to p*** in which was the reason they were relegated last year so I'm not sure where you're getting you facts from.
