Until Bikey and Eagles decide what they are doing, Brown can not look for their replacements or direct his attentions towards filling other positions. He has limited capital to play with, so maybe he is waiting patiently(too patiently?)for them to indicate their intentions.

I've been told Brown is on holiday again so if that's the case then we won't be announcing any signings this week. I wouldn't be surprised if we have signed a few players already and they all get announced when they turn up for training on about 30th June.

 

That can't be right. Must have been on holiday three weeks now? Unless he's back tomorrow or something. Besides managers are always on the phone on holiday arranging deals, so it isn't that important where Brown is, moves should still be being made. Just because only one player has arrived and only one player had re signed (senior player) it doesn't mean there isn't a lot going on in the background. Just have to wait and see what he comes up with.

Some of them spent nothing and kept their side up using tactics. As I posted at the end of the season, why didn't we concentrate on set pieces knowing our forwards were powder puff? Why play one up front when it's clear it wasn't working. I'd rather go down fighting than trying to keep a clean sheet and pinch one.

I'll go back to a stoke comparison , when they had no forwards 5/6 years ago their back four chipped in with almost 20 goals. They used their sides best attributes to survive. Brown isn't the man to take us forward and I'm amazed fans are willing to give him a chance.

 

 

The key is in your last few words - give him a chance. If he fails, then I will come on here and admit you were right and Im sure many others will. Not that we will be short of 'I told you so' vultures whose glee at Brown failing will outweigh their concern for Vale.

He hasn't had a fair chance yet though, and only when he has assembled a squad and played at least half-a-season with his own players is it fair to judge.

The post before where you said 'How do we know Brown didn't have a similar incentive to the £2m to keep Vale up' - yes, I can just imagine Smurf giving that - more like £50 and a few sweeties.

There is also the very valid point made here that Norman is responsible for the managerial appointments he makes. People will disagree about Rob Page, but those who slate him and Brown are saying that Norman has made 3 bad appointments in a row.

I don't agree he has myself, just Bruno but that was such a disaster that it could set us back years.

in our situation we have no choice,since when have supporters been able to sign a manager and pay him against the chairmans wishes even if they could agree on one.

If we did that to Smurthwaite he'd return nine years later and put 50 million into Crewe just to spite us. Fortunately he'd spend the wage bill on half men half machines from Nanking and take them into non-league.

No that makes no sense. There's clearly a reason fans won't put money in. If we sign crap players it's blatantly his fault and the management team up to a point as well.

With what you tell everyone why should we expect crap players,you have told us the top notch ones we are signing or have you forgotton that bit.

 

One of the 3 could be interesting but the keeper my guess is that he will be a decent age but with not that many games under his belt....all guess work though as you are the one in the know
