It's clear we're shopping in bargain basement again so don't get excited about potential signings. Heard at the weekend that Bury are still paying the bulk of Popes wages for next season - how does that work?

How do you know he's making it up? Still no mention of a home kit before Father's Day I see? Are they actually doing anything more to sell season tickets?

 

Because being realistic for a second if Bury were paying anything they'd surely rather pay him to be in their reserves! And as others have said to you the season ticket ship has sailed as long as Smurthwaite sticks around.

Probably the same as the amount we are paying for the players we have paid up to leave!

Doubtful they are paying the bulk but would be surprising if they haven't paid him part of his wage to leave and reduce their costs. We've done the same thing with some of our leavers.

There was a full-page advert about season tickets in the Longport and Trubshaw Cross Chronicle. "Be quick and snap the up or I'll eat the unsold ones" said Chairman Tony Flably.
