I'm happy with this signing and just what we need up front, some know how and experience at this level. And as already pointed out by Jean hes the perfect foil for our other forards to take the knocks and do the dirty work for them when the ball gets played up top.

 

We sign a player who can head the ball on the same day we release the only player who can cross the ball.

There are other players out there who can cross you know.

I'm not as impressed as some Valiants, sorry. Yes, I hope he can regain the form that gave him star billing in some eyes but I hope we have enough money in the kitty to now get in a proven goalscorer alongside him. What is needed in Division 2 is a team that scores goals and that will bring back some of the crowds. Brown too now has to change his system and give Tom the service required, not leave him alone up front as has been witnessed under Brown's regime.

 

A start, yes but we honestly need more to enthuse those that have stayed away.

 

As a side issue does this mean that the big, blue overlord is in fact not making the decisions behind the scenes? For Tom to return he must be happy that things have altered?

Shocked at the negativity. Last time he was in league 2 he was the league's player of the year. He single handily got us promoted he gives 120% effort because Vale is in his blood. He is only 31 for God's sake. With decent service he will make our current forwards look daft !

Not as big a fan as most on here. But he would be a cracking signing for us in league 2! Not just in terms of football but him joining would bring fans back. Would be a brill signing

Great signing and if we can get a younger player that's nippy alongside it could work well for us. I would like to see Turner push on now and feed off the Pontiff.
