Big News - Ah Kid Tom is coming home..

Tom Pope knows where the net is and could find it by means of his feet or by heading the ball. Hope that he still can do and that he will also get himself really fit.

He can collect the ball with feet, chest or head and hold on to it before hopefully finding another Vale player.

Time will tell if this be a good signing or not, but I place my trust in M.Browns judgement.

if he's half as good has when he left he will do for me, he's a battler also a voice on the pitch, now its "feed the POPE and he will score"...

Good positive post apart from the ridiculous first sentence.

Why? I'm not as big a fan of Pope as many on here.... That's not say I don't rate him, think it's a really good signing and one that could help get fans back. This is his level and hopefully he can recapture that form that got us promoted.

It's a good signing.

I've said before that we need a few warriors and hardened pros - lads who will run through a brick wall and leave everything out on the pitch. Pope will do that and he'll help the younger lads and in the dressing room. You have to have a few Tom Pope's in your team.

The number of goals he scores depends on the quality of service we provide for him. Two good wingers and someone like Eagles in the number ten role and we're quids in but not if we play one isolated striker and don't have a shot until after half time.

Out strikers averaged about 4-5 goals each last season. It's not hard to better that. Good news but it's only the start.

Well done Michael Brown.
