Season Ticket Prices/Sales

We have the same comments every year Conrad. If someone puts a fiver up every week from June 1st , that nearly pays for the ST. Folk don't seem to have a problem spending a fortune going to away games! Of course if you cannot afford the fiver a week, and i know some people just can't, thats a different matter,it must be terrible to be that close to going under. But for most, it's a couple of fags a day less or a pint and a half less on a night out, perhaps no late night take away etc. No offence meant to anyone with this post, its just that like Conrad says this same conversation comes up at this time every year.

Although I understand what you are saying [not sure I agree with it] some may find it offensive that they have to cut back on anything so smurf doesnt have to put his own money into the failing business he owns... perhaps he should sell his E type?

Very true Bon'Ami, we all have different pressure points on our finances. For me I tuck away £5.10 weekly to meet my ST cost. True, I don't have the kids at home these days, but my income nowadays comes from my superannuation which is considerably less than when was working ergo spending decisions still need to be measured.

They are not supporters been going since 1959, that's support! Not 5 minutes or in glory times under Rudge/Bell sometimes worse than now! Don't like Vale fans who don't go but love those who do.

And many Valiants choosing not to buy STs have been watching PVFC home and away long before 1959 - still do

Oh, and a "read response" button on the email I've received. I'm surprised and impressed by this improvement in communication. I will renew for me and my two kids. My son is 10 so I'd decided it was too expensive but these changes save me £110. I'll be encouraging my brothers, dad and mates to get theirs too.

I know there is a big issue with the ownership of the club but hopefully this will be resolved soon. In the meantime, regardless of who owns the club, season ticket sales over the next couple of weeks will determine the budget for the playing squad regardless of who the owner is. Hopefully the next big announcement of an agreed sale to Synectics will be soon. I feel certain that we'd almost double season ticket sales if this happened.

Must do. The ground value will be far greater for a start , leading to higher rates, water rates , insurance for a start. Far bigger stands and concourses therefore electric will be higher. Higher policing and stewarding costs. Higher maintenance costs. Need I go on?
To a degree I will go along with that but a ground with more/larger facilities to create money if it is run correctly. For instance I used to work in the hotel trade and there is a lot of money to be made in meeting facilities and the Vale has the boxes to run loads of these meetings and these people spend loads on food/drinks etc.

All it needs is a switched on person to bring in far more revenue than the costs of owning a large stadium.

I'm sorry Walt but if we all had your attitude Smurthwaite would happily take your 'brass' and still serve us up rubbish. This guy misguidedly though that Port Vale was a 'cash cow' waiting to be milked. Guess what you cant milk a bull and so as long as the bloke is attached to the Club I won't buy another season ticket. The money factor is irrelevant to me it's the man running the club that bothers me.

By the way Walter what gives you the right to say who is and who isn't a 'real fan' because I am a fan but I aren't a fool who will be blinded by my scarf being wrapped over my eyes.

I wondered how long it would be until the 'medals' came out! I have followed the club just as long , walked to Shrewsbury to raise funds to sign a player, gone to nearly every ground in the country and been assaulted for wearing my colours. DOES THIS MAKE ME A FAN WALTER?
