Sam Johnson

Just watched the footage of Halifax putting an end to the Salford bandwagon. Sam saved one penalty in the shootout and now play Chorley for a place in the National premier which is one league below us !!! Also watched the first leg at Salford where he kept Halifax in the tie. Well done Sam.

I've not seen a lot of him but the games that I have seen he appeared though unorthodox to be better than the two that we had playing for us after Jak left us for the 'Blue Noses'. A decision needs to be made on him and the other young keepers because we can't afford too many of them and we are really stifling their chances of making a career for themselves.

I'd try and get Neal back because he was the equal of Alnwick in my opinion and with either Johnson or Boot in reserve.

He's doing alright at that level, my friend has seen him a few times this season and he looks fine, although a little shaky on occasions.

I would release him, he couldn't get many games in the National League for Gateshead earlier in the season. Suggests he has found his level for now.

All the best to him, he's a nice lad as well.

Still not convinced by him, in both his technical ability and his body language.

The errors in pre-season the other year against Getafe and Altrincham effectively forced the club's hand to go out and sign Alnwick. Otherwise he probably would have had a run of games at least until Neal recovered from injury.

No. Hopeless keeper. Anyone who attended the Leyton Orient away game will recall what a disaster that was. Orient fans were laughing at him that day and I have never seen a more all round bad keeping display of kicking to the opposition and fumbling easy catches

Hopefully he'll make that move a permanent one, found his level. Not someone I'd be happy to see in goal for us again, would be more confident with Fasan, and I want us to release him too.

He did save a penalty that day from memory. Not a great keeper although nowhere near as bad as some make out. He is miles better than Mehmet and probably on a par with Fasan.

I don't really rate fasan or mehmet especially mehmet but I'd say their both comfortably better than Johnson. He didn't even look interested on most occasions.

I believe Neal was one of our top earners and that was one of the reasons why we let him go.

Can't see him wanting to cut his wages and/or play in League Two. Too expensive I'd imagine.

Neal left to chase first team football and ended up third choice.

If we offered him first choice keeper at a club where the fans like him I'm sure that would be interesting to him. Wages are different matter.
