Matchday Thread: Oldham A v Port Vale

it's a good one to win, a match between 2 poor teams, we will be more organised than them hopefully, an own goal in the 91st minute away is a right demoraliser.

I went the night game when we drew 1-1 Think Pope or Williamson scored for us ,i drove i just parked on a side street near to a pub on the main road before turning into the road where the away end is situated .

But im sure u can park somewhere free like i did but if not im sure there was a huge car park on away end i couldnt tell .

Think you can park by the harvester pub or the comet/currys. Mind you the last time I drove to Oldham Lee hughes scored for them and I think calum willock bicycle kick for us. 2006?

Going be a really hard game in the corresponding fixture at Vale Park i was mightly impressed with Oldham .

How would i set us up for this game well as we seem to more than not have any backbone when playing away we must try something different so heres what i propose .

Cecelia ( or jones if well enough ) .

Looks like a strange formation but i think it might work u got Smith and Amoros winning the ball in front the 3 at the back once won the ball shift to Taylor and Kiko who r helping out defensively but delivering quality into the box ,thomas told to not worry about the defensive side just get up and support Jonesy or Cecelia as much as possible especially if big reg is playing as he does a lot of good work .

Use your brains though players dont boot the ball in the air to big reggie thats not his strength his strength his to his feet and run off him same with Jones .

Taylor we all know his strength so win free kicks in the area where Ericksen who plays usually pops them in the back of the net .

The goal v Northampton what big reg popped in with his head was superb even though when the goalie kicks it up to him he doesnt seem win many the cross from.Taylor what the lad can do if u deliver quality thays why ive picked Kiko and not Kelly i want that ball delivering straight away .

Kelly is a good intelligent player but away games r not for him .

Amoros comes in for Grant to give balance to the left side of the two ball winning defenders ,also think he might give us more going forwards .

My opinion ill get some stick for that but im like batfink 😀.

Massive game this if i wasnt going the even bigger game v Huddersfield id have gone today .

I would play the same team as we played last week (jones for reg if hes fit enough), we should attempt to start on the front foot as if we get an early goal they will collapse and the fans will be right on their backs.
