My match report from today can be aptly summed up as rubbish.

 

Is it time for Plan B? Discuss.

 

I believe it was the lowest attendance for a home game in the FA Cup since Victoria was on the throne.

7 Dec 1901, 5Q round lost 2-1 to Walsall. att 1200, as a point of information. Still a poor gate today, but current form is not encouraging, a shake-up of attitudes is required at the club both by the playing and marketing departments.

Defo. Get Brown in. We've got a squad of 36 players and at least half of those are simply not good enough and is just wasted budget for me. What the hell has happened to Shalaj? Why isn't Amoros playing instead of the rapidly deteriorating Tavares? Why have we loaned out a forward to our rivals and replaced him with a player who is considerably worse? What was the point of signing the Portuguese goalie? Or Taylor? Or Hart? Why are we constitently putting squares pegs in round holes? Why are we persisting with a formation and style of play that is blatantly not suited to the players we have? Why are we not learning lessons from heavy away defeats? I could go on....but all in all, we have the wrong man in charge for me.

i don't know what the answer is at the moment that doesn't involve a change in manager. The problem with that is that a new man is left with Bruno's *****.

 

The crazy thing is we've got 30+ players and yet in January we probably need to be in the market for another 5.

Pretty much agree with all this.

Strange that Bruno has not done post match interviews for a month or so.

If we had lost today I'm sure Norman would have acted. We won so lets be grateful for that.

We look lost for ideas have no attack to mention but reasonable back four and keeper wise.

I would say bottom 7/8 and out of the cup against a reasonable side on todays showing.

Its a mess the squad lacks quality and bite. Big risk by Smurf - Is Brown the plan B.

Another question to ponder. Who financed all these deals?

I couldn't be bothered to listen to Radio Stoke on my way home after the atch. Who did the post match interview and what was said?

 

Lee Berkman spoon-fed Andy Smith some drivel. Pretty much a routine performance from him.

 

Andy Smith concentrated on the fact we got through (fair enough) but no mention was made of Hart being dropped after scoring at Bolton...then being brought on today!

After pages ridiculous retained list shenanigans, we asked for a small squad where the money was spent on quality players. I've got no idea if things will turn around or go into free fall, but I am confused as to what the plan is.
