Believe Andy Smith, former Northern Ireland player was taking part in the coaching this morning along with Bruno and Brown. Was with Bruno at Sheff U and has followed him around over the last few years.

There was also a foreign guy with MM on his training gear going over fitness routines with them.

Also a young player training who no one recognises.

Looking forward to the new season. This is a great experiment which could transform the Vale from what has for the past two seasons been pretty boring football to something really exciting. Either that or it will be a disaster. Either way it is going to be interesting. Buy your season ticket and come along for the ride.

During training it was clear that the squad seriously lacks height. Strange to see a squad actually playing games on first training session as it's normally all about fitness after the summer break. On a less important but continually annoying topic, why when the football league offer match balls in any colour to compliment the clubs colours, do Vale persist in picking blue year after year.

If we have signed Kiko on left back, he is 6ft1 Street as a big lad. A little smaller, hopefully with good timing jumping reach, they can still be decent headers. The big forward defends on set piece. If the smaller central defender is quick and good tackler, good on the ball. It can still be a good defence.

Knops is 6ft and Mac-intosch is 5' 11". Near as dammit but I'd be happier if they are better than your average jumpers

Has Peter Farrell joined us or not, he wasn't at the training session today. I accept we are no longer a fan owned club and are not privy to all that goes on at the club, but surely to god we are entitled to know who the ******* players and coaches are.
