My first thought, going from the hints so far, was Eamonn O'Keefe, which increased when a quick check of wikipeado states that he now lives in Portugal (maybe next-door to Ribeiro?! ) - although it also says on there that he works for a property group and used to be a social worker....... which doesn't necessarily rule him out as some might think this makes him perfectly suited to working for Smurthwaite?!
