Saddened by this one. TBH 12 months ago I wouldn't really have been but he's just had a good season and he's been a decent servant to Vale.

Dodds has had a good season but i am not distraught that he is going,in fact i think all those out of contract can and will be replaced......I might be mad here but i think Smurf will back his new manager with funds

Would anyone else turn down the chance of a lot more money ? Ask yourself if you think he was worth a pay rise.

 

Most would have released him in the last 7 years.

I can count on my hand how many good games he has had in 8 years. Shrewsbury had a good cup run last year so will have spare cash. We would have if we had turned up against Exeter....

Not overly disappointed in this news. He's had a better season this last season but he isn't a player who is going to shoot you to the top of the league.

 

Good technical footballer but as others have said he goes missing far too often and we can't afford to carry players like that.

Well done Smurf, when you first came to the club, you threatened to sign Conference players if gates didn't improve, you really are going to carry out your threat, It's about time you put the club up for sale, and get someone in, that knows how to run a football league club.

This has pissed me off. I liked Dodds and he wanted to stay too, but no1 can afford to take a 50% pay cut. Dodds wasnt on loads of wonga as it was. I give up with Smurf now i really do.
