I will now be interviewing 2 ex Championship Managers 1 Sat am and 1 Tuesday pm.I understand your frustration in time passing but must get

.... and I guess this rules out Ribeiro and Morais

Maybe not, " checking details of the special relationship" is this a cryptic clue to the "special" one?

I don't think there is anyone nailed on for the job since two new candidates are being interviewed. Going to be a long season. It will be like supporting a different team since so many players have left.
Hopefully a stronger team, and more focused in cup matches.

Smurf has in reality told us that he will check with JM to be certain what the level of contact/cooperation there will be if he appoints Mourinho's candidate, that must mean that as Chairman he is happy with the interview he held with this guy.

It is just possible though that Smurf has been surprised at the fans reaction to RB, that can be the only thing that might make him hesitate, but for me he's as good as done the deal.

This is where it gets interesting.

The favoured 3 are reduced to a preferred 1 with 2 substitutes/late additions just in case.

Balanced with the news that the budget is back now that out of contract players have not signed.

Its a risky PR strategy but I think smurf is playing it quite well at the moment, far better than he has done in the past.

Bad news... 2 off the possible manager list

Not so bad news... 2 added with slight clue/indication of quality

Indifferent news... players not signing [it was expected], still trying to keep 1 [expected]

Better news... the possible link with MU still on [?]

Good news... the budget is back up [its what everyone has been screaming for]

The risk?.. Keeping it going for another 10 days and delivering the big bang at the end of it.

I would suggest to keep it going a drizzle of good news is released every couple of days... starting with advertising the early bird offer is still on until the manager is announced [and no longer]... releasing the names of the 2 unsuccessful candidates [if possible but a little risky] to show the caliber and quality... special offer in the shop... some good news about the catering perhaps... anything else that is positive...

Im amazed anyone believes a thing this man says. On twitter. In the press. It amazes me.

Im selling the club.

We have buyers.

I wont tell you who they are.

They are taking over end of march.

They are having another month.

There are american investors.

I wont tell you who they are.

Everythings fallen through.

Im now not selling the club.

The budget is being cut.

The budget is now going to be that of the first season back in league 1.

I spoke to Bill Bell. (After he died)

Mourinho phoned me.

Thought it was a joke.

Phoned me back at the weekend and then i realised it was him!

Im appointing a CEO if i dont sell up.

Im not appointing one. It costs too much.

And thats off the top of my head. The man lives in cuckooville.

Now, believe what you want but until i see hard proof of a good manager coming through the door and decent players being signed, he can shove his words on twitter right now.

The man has a lot to prove to Vale fans that he can get things right after the last 6 months and all this "In Smurf we trust" rubbish, is exactly that..... Rubbish.

I don't trust him and his bull **** one little bit.

I hope he proves me wrong.

What the hell is going on at our club it's all so secretive !! So losing all our players and i guess it's not the special ones mate then!

Well, we have asked Smurf to keep stum unless there is something to say. Now that he seems to be doing just that some Valiants still want answers on the hour - so to speak.

Totally agree ST, its like a game with him and so unprofessional. I can just imagine next these 2 championship contenders didn't cut the cloth so it will be the one that is to be announced on the 21st. If it is still to be the 21st that tells me he has already made his choice and all this is his way of playing around. Can't imagine what the likes of Pope thinks of him now, that he now states that he is increasing the budget to what it was when he was here and that is the reason he had to let him go. And yes I know we saw the best out of Pope but I'm using as another example of the riddles / change of direction we find ourselves in, under his so called professional leadership as a chairman.
