Don't the contract offers have to stay on the table for 28 days before they can be withdrawn?

 

Sounds logical.

 

I've nothing against Michael Brown, but I think now is the wrong time for a rookie. The club needs stabilising quickly and whipping into shape behind the scenes, buy an experienced manager, perhaps with Brown as No2.

They do indeed, I'm just hoping we get the new man in asap, he tells folks like Yates, Moore, Johnson, Lloyd and Birchall thanks but they don't appear in his plans and they take the hint.

Why not ? Smurf reads and posts on OVF and didn't pay him enough or want to keep him enough. There are about 7 or 8 hardline anti-RP people on here who have undermined RP consistently, and another couple like REP who choose to praise him only when Vale win and 6 months ago were slating him all the time.

Those people DO influence Smurf, even if he denies it - and I expect this will be a banned opinion as you too have been less than supportive of him. Yes, anyone is entitled to their opinion (except me it seems when my posts are removed, only ever by one admin person) - but don't weep crocodile tears after or try to pretend that what you write does not have implications.

 

If we get someone who is a disaster it will be a lot to do with those few people who have made life more difficult than it should have been for RP who probably has been waiting for a chance to get away from them and their non-support.

I too am very sorry that we have lost John Harbim, has it occurred to anyone that not only Bodin but also Michael Brown may also end up at Northampton the way things are going ?

Very disappointed that we're stuck with Pages retained list, especially after his emails rallying the fans to support him and the team. Mixed emotions in terms of losing Page and we're unaware of what's happened behind the scenes, but I'm sure that Page, just like the rest of the staff at VP are working under very challenging and frustrating conditions. One thing I know for a fact is I've had a belly full of this club and sadly I couldnt give a stuff what happens to it any more.

 

And yet you are posting on a forum relating to the club you don't give a stuff about ;)

Exciting times ahead from my perspective if we get the right manager in. We need someone dynamic and less chummy with the players.

 

Here's hoping we can now withdraw contract offers to a number of players for the new man to start again.

 

My choices would be Brown, Coleman, Atkins and if it was one of the latter two with Brown as assistant.

 

We are behind where we were 2 years ago so hopefully we can now look to progress.

Decision was hard Page said - rubbish- two budget cuts helped that decision. I have not been in touch with Northampton- normally clubs take a few weeks to sort out their new manager. Done and dusted in two days..

 

We could be doing a Crewe if Smurf goes for the cheapest option and I guess he will to save money.

 

Only at Vale could this happen.

If we had 10 times the support, the few dissenters would show up less.

It's not that there are only 7 or 8, but that those 7 or 8 are relentless and post incessantly every time the slightest thing goes wrong, they gleefully jump in and heap blame on anyone they feel like and loive doing it.

Still, you should know that already, nice to get thanks from your Dad - he is your father, or are you going to deny that ?

Those few people definitely had an influence on RP leaving, whether directly or indirectly, and will probably make the next poor sod's life a misery as well.

Not stuck with his retained list at all, who has accepted the terms? Are they now more likely to follow Page or look elsewhere ? Could well get poorer replacements unless Smurf decides to increase the budget to tempt a new manager by giving him more scope than Page.
