Smith on radio Stoke on about Stoke deserved to win it. How so when the 'goal' they scored was offside, had it been rightly chalked off it may have been a completely different game.

Denis Smith is just a massive cheerleader for them, the most biased g1t you could get to do punditry - so typical for that joke of a radio station.

The Sun on Sunday asked an ex-player of each Premier club who they should sign in the transfer window and he was their's - his response was something like 'we don't need to sign anyone as the goalkeeper is fantastic (give him that one), the defence is great, midfield is wonderful and the forward options are superb.'

Icing on the cake - Stoke just go out on sudden death penos at Liverpool. Tops a great evening :)

A great night indeed!

And the stripey ****** defeat probably means that our home game with Southend will now be moved to Friday 26th Feb*, as they will now be playing their scheduled Prem game at home to Villa on the Saturday, rather than being in the League Cup final on the Sunday!

* can't see our game being switched to the Sunday as we're away to Oldham on the Tuesday.

AJLS has really stepped up.

From looking like a conference footballer at best, the lad has taken the bull by the horns, so to speak.

However, its only him scoring. IF we can add an extra dimension up top we could have an exciting end to the season.

Two away wins in a month after three in eight months!

Any kind of result on Saturday will be more than welcome.

Good performance from the lads tonight. I thought in particular we looked really strong at the back- the entire back 5 were all excellent. Their goal was an utter fluke so not too concerned about that. Also some promising signs of a partnership building between Ajay and JJ- both played well individually and put in a good shift while they linked up well on a number of occasions. On paper its an ideal partnership- 1 big strong and decent in the air, the other quick and intelligent.

Kennedy started well but faded in the second half but he certainly looks a promising addition who i'm looking forward to seeing more from. Also good to see Inniss back in a Vale shirt, albeit only for a minute or so.

Cracking evening all round, apart from a couple of prats who seemed to put all their energy into slagging off Louis Dodds from minute 1. Yes he was poor tonight but surely by 8 years we know what we get with Dodds, he has these games, particularly when played out wide. Yes, we all have a moan at players from time to time but the criticism started in the first minute (before he'd even touched the ball) and never let up and quite frankly it ****ed me right off.

Anyway moan over, well done lads and lets hope we can keep it up at Wigan who (if rumour is to be believed) might have a certain Sammy Morsy in their squad by Saturday.
