Sorry but I can't agree. He strengthened defence and centre midfield which needed doing but actually weakened our attack. He also over recruited in midfield for some bizarre reason. In defence he's been unfortunate to lose Inniss but it's hard to feel sympathy when he drops Streete for McGivern. Along with many others I think we're paying the price for having a squad heavily laden with the 'not ready' & 'not good enough' and no strikers.

Improving the defence means spending less money on another area of the pitch.

I wish that we had unlimited money but we don't. I fully agree with the gamble we took on a player like Uche although I would love it if we could perhaps get another striker in on loan.

The first words from Page will be the players are giving me everything and working hard. This is a small glitch and we are all working at sorting it out.

Last year the defence was fragile to say the least and this year they can't defend corners or set pieces and now our strikers and midfield are not able to score.

Question would be - when will these issues be sorted before we are next to Crewe at the bottom of the league.

No. But i would still ask. The man needs to be asked tough questions to make him uncomfortable and to show the fans anger towards the ridiculous retained list.

His addressing of it in the sentinel last week was embarassing.

I don't know of a single football manager who HAS to justify his decisions to the fans. It's a measure of the bloke's decency of character that he has agreed to do this fans forum. How many premier league bosses would do this? Would Micky Adams have done this?

This is a PR disaster in my opinion, Smurf on the radio first and then Page doing a "Meet the manager " session after is a disaster.

I would hope that common sense prevails and Smurf cancels his radio interview and either supports the manager at the "Meet the manager " or cancels altogether.

I dont think it will be helpful to Page or the club going forward for the manager having to defend himself at this stage of the season in front of his detractors.

Norman could do both. Radio Stokes only in Hanley.

Micky Adams did do this i attended, got pictures if you want proof, a lot of Managers do this, Peterborough did the same on the run up to our game last year with Ferguson before we beat them 2-0, Brian Horton did the same at his time at Vale it is more common than you think!!
