If Page goes, the replacement will already be at the club. Talk of Rosler and co is pie in the sky.

I've been saying this for a while. Player/coach coming to the end of his career with experience at the top level would be the first person that springs to mind. However, I hope Page is given more time. This all seems to be happening very quickly.

I am not justifying anything to you. I've been to plenty of games this season.

I'm simply asking did you go to any of those games, if so then you would see my point of view. If you've only been to home matches then you will have a completely different view as the football at home has been far better.

He wasn't the one I was thinking of, stupers but you may be right. I'm looking forward to another 12 months of a rookie manager (in your case)/proven failure (in mine) making mistakes, before we sack them and start again.

But starting from scratch as a manager, there are very few players who become managers, and they usually only have one job unless they get on the merry-go-round. Either way it is always a gamble, some managers fit a club/group of players, in their next job they do not. Page has had some excellent games at home, but away is a different matter. Do we start from scratch, or cure the away problem?

A few points I have picked up from this thread:

1. I applaud the club for having a radio phone in with the Chairman and a meet the Manager session. Contact between fans and chairman/manager is important, especially in difficult times.

2. There's no need for these personal criticisms of Page. I understand why people are frustrated and I completely accept that there would be justification in his sacking but if you go back to the post-game thread of the West Brom game he was being lauded as the next Guardiola.

3. Although it is a highly unpopular opinion at this time, but I wouldn't sack Page. I'd give him till the end of the season. We won't go up and we won't go down, so I'd at least give him a full season to get his ideas across. At best we'd be replacing him with a stop-gap journeyman which will probably see a short-term improvement but will be gone by the end of next season.

I sincerely hope those going along to verbally 'persecute' RB have a 'Damascus Conversion' before the night. After all, there are no new 'revelations' that he or any of us don't already know.

Truth is Barry, they sing his name on the terraces, it's just the keyboard warriors get going on here. I've not heard one "Page out" in the ground this season

I can see this being a car crash if it goes ahead, and simply a vehicle for more negativity. Page is likely to come out with the same old cliches he uses on the radio, fans will groan and start questioning his decisions, it'll become awkward and the lasting effect will be all concerned (manager included) leaving the room more down about our predicament than they were when they entered. I can't see one benefit to having this meeting. Yes, it's all well and good the club engaging with fans, but what will this meeting achieve? Those fans going, will be going to ask awkward questions of Page, it's clear that the most unhappy are usually the most vocal. That being the case, Page will be in for a rough ride in my opinion and this meeting will only serve to increase tension.
