Did you see JJ in the reserve game against St*ke? He didn't exactly look ready for the first team based on that display. Kelly is like a lot of young players, got some great footballing skills but is too easy to push around if you are a cynical old defender who knows all the tricks.

I know it was only a friendly but Kelly did very well against lets say a dirty Getafe side,infact he was excellent....maybe he just needs confidence and a run of games but would he get the chance to get a run of games before he got crucified by some

Unfortunately JJ will turn out to be the new campion if we chuck him in too soon.

 

I see what you are saying and yes it is a risk but how come other teams throw in non league players(Peterborough do it a lot) or Premier youngsters(Anderson at Donny) and they do ok,yet we have to give them a season in the reserves or just sit them on the bench

I think it is down to the individuals concerned. Competition to sign young players is fierce, premier league sign the best ones before they have even reached double figure ages. Some fall by the wayside and drift down the football pyramid or out of the game. It is down to good scouting I guess.

I've been saying all season that once all 3 central midfielders are fit then the personnel we have really lends itself to a 4-3-3 with Grant, O' Connor as a midfield three, Uche up top with 2 of Andoh, Daniel and Moore either side. That system to me is ideal for away matches as when we're under the cosh it can almost become a 4-5-1. More dynamic than a flat 442.

 

With that in mind, my team would be:

 

Alnwick

Purkiss. Streete. Duffy. Dickinson

 

O'Connor. Grant. Foley

 

Moore. Ikpaezu. Daniel

You say go for the jugular and you want AJLS in your team, supposedly a striker with 2 goals in around 40 games, I hope I am proved wrong but he just does not look good enough.
