We need score more goals away from home. Failed to score in 5 of our 7 away games this season. Only scored 4 away goals 2 of which are penalties so only scored 2 away goals from open play and in some of the games like against crewe and bradford first half we missed a hatful of chances.

I agree with that but disagree with the tedious complaining about the retained list.

 

But its the single most disasterous element of our season, and will be the issue that holds us back most. We have four keepers on our books, and no out and out striker deemed good enough to start (with one on loan that isnt ours). We have We needed at least another striker is not two, and could have dealt with not having the likes of Lloyd, birchall and Johnson in the squad and used loans when necessary if it got that bad. It could have been worse, he offered williamson a contract as well who is yet to score this season as well! Lots of positives this season, but one massive, glaring, unforgivable balls up at the beginning that is shaping our season.

Why are we always going to have 4/5 toss players? This season was the perfect chance to rid of them. If it's pointless then don't comment.

I'd happily allow johnson, Birchall and lloyd leave and bring in one striker. We have a big squad. Its not about how many players, its about a balanced squad. Im not asking for 23 starting 11 players, im asking for ONE starting 11 striker!

Anyone would think Vale are being totally outclassed and losing by 4+ goals every away game, nothing is further from the truth. Consider we're 4 points from the playoff's despite our best two players and leading scorer from last season not starting a game this one so Rob Page, Smurf et al are doing something right. It's frustrating as I consider Vale are one goal scorer away from having a balanced squad and being a serious play-off contender team and the two people who recognize this more than anyone are Page and Smurf but it appears there's no money left to bring a goal scorer in. I guess Hooper was thought to be that goalscorer and it's mystifying why he's not being given a chance but I've enough confidence in Page and his team to know Hooper will get a chance when he's right and if he's good enough.

Keep losing by 1 goal and we'd be just as relegated as loosing by 4, it was obvious when assembling the squad for this season that we would need a striker especially after loosing the top 3 goal scorers from last season, a fact the management team seem to have overlooked.

But its the managers job to build the squad. There are teams who have a lower budget and manage to sign strikers. Im not sure what point you are arguing unless you to dont think we should have at least one starting striker on our books. If watford dont extend Uches loan, will you be happy with the striking options in the squad?

To be fair he is struggling to get in Bury's first team and they have also signed another Striker last Week. He came off the bench to score yesterday but don't think he's setting the world on fire there. Honestly not sure on his goal scoring record this Season but don't think it is close to Uchi.

Having said that Pope upfront would be better than Daniel.
