If we only attracted 150 extra fans through being able to pay on a cash turnstile it would bring in over £75000.00 per season. Plus hopefully extra profit on money they spent while in the ground.

G'day Ray, any idea what the wages / other costs would be? 5%? 10%? less or more?

I'm not in favour of cash entries - they were scrapped in this neck of the woods years ago. Still, Smurf has mentioned he may review/consider a cash option. But how would we know if the '150' extra punters wont be a mix to include punters choosing to pay cash rather than buying a ticket beforehand?

As someone mentioned earlier - we wont know until it is tested :)

Barry I would imagine that the club would have to employ a couple of extra people to look after the pay on the gate customers. Even if it was £30.00 per match for up to three hours work it would only cost £1380.00 for the twenty three league games. Ideally we would have a couple of volunteers who would do a survey of the people paying cash to find out if they would have bought a ticket in the ticket office if there wasn't a cash turnstile. But one thing is for sure we will not know if we don't try. The club after take away as many excuses as possible why fans are not attending.

I think everyone's forgetting the long queues at cash turnstiles!

At least with the ticket office, there are 3 or 4 windows to serve one queue.

At a cash turnstile there is just one person to deal with everybody.

All it takes is people turning up without the correct money (probably 4 out of 5 punters need change giving back).

Throw in a dithering turnstile operator and the ridiculously-narrow turnstiles to get through and you end up back at square one!

Cheers Bon'Ami :) As you say, it should be tested.

If Ray's hypothesis of spur of the moment 150 punters paying cash proves to be the case then 'queues' would not be an issue. Also, and here's my take on it, spur of the moment punters will be met with a sign stating 'Correct money only - no change facility available'. After all, and in my opinion, those requesting cash entry should be prepared to take some responsibility to speeding up entry to the 'Stadium regardless we have young, old, fast or slow turnstile operators.

The turnstiles were made for late 40s' bodies built on war rations. May even have been from the Old Rec.

Thought fleetwood had it spot on yesterday regards match day experience, ticket booths around the ground, automated gate entry - lovely little ground, the playing surface was bob on!!

When you see a queue a mile long on a Tuesday night, it's bound to put folk off coming again... Why not pre-print tickets to speed things up?!?

I thought they did pre-print tickets, at the Millwall game there was a woman standing outside the ticket office with a wad of tickets selling to people with the correct money, she was selling loads and really helped to reduce the queue.
