Sorry to see him go, I agree at this level a good squad man, but I suspect Mansfield have offered better chance of first team football, when you think about it the reasons Richie went to Mansfield are probably exactly the same reasons that Ben Williamson came to us rather than Bournemouth. Both young lads who want first team football, cannot argue. Good luck to Richie, good lad, decent play I hope he gets back into the league with the Stags

I'm on the fence on this one, I was never as confident when he was playing as i was with Owen, McCombe or Collins at centre back, but then again he didn't really have any 'shockers' a la Chris Slater. I liked the way he'd pass the ball out of defence but he always seemed to get beat in a 1-on-1 situation (like when Jevons scored against us at VP).

 

Good luck with your career though Ritchie.

Not the worst player we have had but would of been happy for him to stay as a squad player.

 

Micky has told Sutto that he will not figure in his first team plans so good luck Ritchie in joining Mansfield and getting games every week..

Sadly its the truth, however we believed that Richie was going to stay at Vale being a big Vale fan, but when its come down to it the temptation of more money, more football and the fact Mansfield are likely be in a better position that VAle in upcoming years has clearly swung it for Richie, good luck to him ===

That's the problem isn't it just because the lad is a Vale fan the club abuse them by offering peanuts and think that they will sign for the honour of playing for their favourite team. I think they are probably trying likewise with Popey. Tell em shove it mate.

suttons replacement will be joe davis. highly rated during youth team, and didnt look out of depth during his first team debut last season. May not have the experiance however sutton had only knocked around non league so as a forth choice centre back it is ideal for his development

A very good 4th choice centre half, who would have played a lot more in any other position in the team. Should we break the bank for a 4th choice - probably not. Good luck and hope he has a really successful career.

I am chuffed Micky is our manager. I have never had a bad word against him. Without doubt the best thing to happen to our club since Rudgie, in my opinion.

However, this is just shocking and unbelievable. You have had 6 weeks to talk to the lad Micky. Pre season means nothing. You got in touch with Gaz Owen quick enough!
