Hassan Al-Thawadi, said, in 2010, "Heat is not and will not be an issue."

Qatar bid officials insisted at the time that “revolutionary cooling technology” would manage to keep all the sites at a comfortable 25C, now he claims that everybody is "biased against Qatar". You betcha!

"English football's Premier League strongly opposed a winter tournament given the disruption it would cause to the title run-in and the hole it would create in the schedules of its broadcast partners.

A World Cup in November and December also affects the Football League, the FA Cup and League Cup."

Perhaps we will have the World Cup Final on Christmas Day?;)

It also clashes with the Champions League Group matches.(Nov and Dec).

We have another battle to be won before WC 2022. Stopping Qatar funding ISIS.

I totally agree with everything you have posted on this thread, especially this post, but even though you wont like me saying it, the US (and Britain to some extent sadly) has supported Qatar and the other horrendous gulf states like Saudi Arabia, Bahrain etc. for far too long and kept the creatures that run those countries in power.

I sincerely hope Qatar doesn't even exist as a nation by 2022, that will solve the problem.

Otherwise, all the proper football countries should just leave FIFA and say no, hold it in China or Australia.

You cannot change the rules of the competition bidding process after the competition has been awarded without either compensating those countries who spent millions on their bids or re-running the process.

When the bidding was ongoing, we were told that the issue of the summer heat in Qatar had been dealt with in their technical bid. We were told that the technology was in place to air condition all the stadiums so that the players and supporters would not be subject to the intense heat. We were told that all of this would be in place for the tournament. If this is not possible then it is quite clear to anyone with more than one brain cell that the competition was awarded to Qatar on the basis of false and misleading information.

Not to mention the bribes.

If the 'country' in question has broken all human rights agreements and international laws and used slave labour to build the stadia for their hosting, Id say its fine to just renage on them and not compensate either. Plus the lies and bribes you mention - I have no moral issue with telling them to go play with their camels, and they can do that either in summer or winter.

Football's just horrible, in many ways. There are no ethics, no principles. As crap as MOLD were, I remember Glen Oliver writing to The Guardian saying how Vale has asked the FA if they could use Fairtrade footballs; I don't think they even got back to him. In 2022, we'll have multi millionaires, playing in stadia built with slave labour and wearing shirts made in sweatshops for pennies, and no-one will ever do anything about it.
