Yes, ITV4 have covered a lot of the games. Algeria played some great football, and were unlucky to get drawn against Ivory Coast, who I feel sure will win it now. Bony, Toure etc. - they have some great players.

 

I have to thank Liverpool, just for once I put my money where my mouth was, as Bolton were winning at the time of my previous post when I said Liverpool would get through, I got good odds on Liverpool to qualify.

I picked a fantastic first Liverpool away game to attend for a good few years, thoroughly enjoyed it in the end. Credit to Bolton in both legs, Lennon has clearly get them organized and working for each other. With the effort they put in they were always going to be hanging on towards the end and even more so with 10 men. They must be gutted and had Gudjohnsen scored when he should have to make it 2-0 then it might and probably would have been a much different story.

 

From a Liverpool point of view it's fantastic to see Coutinho and Sterling continuing to play well and scoring goals. Sterling is finding the form he has last season and Coutinho is just an outstanding talent, it's a huge plus for us that he signed a new contract this week. Sturridge didn't score when he came on this time but he did a wonderful piece of skill that should have led to a third goal - He doesn't look like anything like player that's been missing for months. Two big and difficult games coming up now against Everton and Spurs - If we can win both of these games which were certainly capable of then confidence will be sky high.

And just to add, Emre Can was fantastic. I know it's only against Bolton but he's shown more than enough glimpses this season for me to see why FC Bayern wanted him to be a part of their squad. Fantastic chipped ball for Sterling's equalizer and was unlucky not to score himself with a brilliant effort that the Bolton keeper managed to push on to the bar.
