Likewise I can say that I had a thoroughly great time at Ford United, Forest Green Rovers and Shortwood over fairly recent times, even Chasetown was a memorable match but for all the wrong reasons and the stories I hear from Canvey (I didn't get to go) are what make the competition so special. The FA Cup can be fantastic, doesn't have to be the giant killings but they obviously add to it too. Just a little bit disappointed getting MKD, not got that bit of 'romance' but let's get them beat get Norton or Warrington Town in the next round then get back to the league stuff the following week.

Losing to Scarborough away in 1994 was ****ing bull**** though.

Cannot understand why a result against MK could affect our league chances. This is the only cup we are left in, let's give it a good go, which I am sure is what RP will do. A great cup run could well enhance our season, and give us confidence for Div 1.

I understand where you're coming from, but we can't yet afford to forget about the league. The whole table is mighty close--certainly from 8th down to 24th and we don't want to be dragged back into the bottom four. And, before I'm accused of panicking, just check the points difference between 10th & 24th--too close for comfort! The truth is we need to win bopth in the cup for the reasons you state and ensure that we have another few good league results. Rochdale on the 15th will be a far from easy task.

Yes I believe that it was although that was another I missed. It was alleged that Joe Allon took everyone out the night before and half the squad hadn't recovered, Joe threatened to punch one of my mates lights out as he kept pestering him about it during one of the award nights up at the Vale.

I feel this game is far more important than the Rochdale league match, or any league match on November.

A win against MK Dons gives us a chance of a decent cup run and extends the season's interest.

A defeat and there are very few big dates to look forward to for the rest of the season as it stands.

Much as I like the FACup I have mixed feelings about this - although it doesn't work this way, if we could only win one of the games v MD and Rochdale, I think Id go for the dale game. Making us more secure in midtable, and possibly rising to near the playoff zone would keep the feelgood momentum going wheras dropped point sin this game would return us a bit too close for comfort to the drop zone.

Only 5 pts between the whole bottom half of the table is a little scary, and the sooner we get a buffer the better. People will come when we play Crewe, Sheffield United and Preston at home for sure, and if we are near the play offs and keep tremendous home form and goals flowing, they'll pay to see clubs like Crawley and Gillingham as well.

Of course, if we can win both that would suit everyone fine, and let's hope that is what happens.

In any event, things look a lot brighter than a few weeks ago, and long may it last !

I heard that rumour as well. I saw him walking into the ground off the bus and he was just shouting a load of random nonsense to no-one in particular. He was either still wasted or just mad as a box of frogs.

Whos available .

If i.could this is my.team..

Neal

Yates Streete Duffy Zubar Mcgivern

Birchall lines Oconnor

Marshall Williamson

Could switch it depending on the flow of the game .

If they r monopolising the play then bring on dodds for a defender and push them up the field .

Hopefully Streete and Zubar can play as they could play a pivotal role in.both boxes ,tough game we need play like its a cup final mugs dont beat Utd 4-0 .

Apparently Zubar was returned to Bournmouth the day after he got sent off at Preston.

I would go with the same 11 again. Duffy worries me at times but is still worth a first 11 place.

Nguessan

Wiliamson

...I suspect that Page would like to go with that team, though I'm not sure if that was O'Connor's 5th yellow that he picked up on Sat.
