I've noticed a lot of people's posts tally has been slashed, for eg. Melv's total has gone down to only 12818 and werstayinup has gone down from nearly 40,000 to around 6500 what's happened to them?

Call me sad if you like, but I'm quite proud of my posts tally and I would be seriously naffed off it was slashed like some have been.

Rob has been doing a load of things to clear up space and make the site run better and this included deleting upwards of 3 thousand posts - some 8 years old. In doing so the post count was also reduced.

 

However, according to Rob he believed the user post counts would stay the same after the forum posts had been deleted.

 

Rob's a little flat tack with a range of home, work and other stuff at the moment, but he has indicated he will see if the post counts can be restored.

Does it really matter that much? Surely the purpose of the site is to air views, not just to worry about a posts tally that some seem to treat as a 'macho' measure!

It seems it matters to a lot of people including the sites owner, hence the gradings, ovf regular, ovf legend, ovf addict etc etc.

Well, mine was reduced and I've only been posting a few years unlike some who've been going for donkeys. It's a bit disappointing but I'm full of admiration for the work Rob does in keeping the site going, so no worries. Be nice though if the count could be restored.
