That's true but neither were strikers. I think Marshall, Moore & O'Connor will replace the 16 league goals Loft and JMW got.

Loft and JMW werent strikers. And im confident we have replaced with better. Goals will come from elsewhere in the side. Its not as easy as saying so and so scored ten goals, so therefore the replacement needs to be able to score ten goals. THe team needs to be able to score ten more goals. And with the quality we have in midfield, the better possession we'll have and more creativity, Im not worried about that at all.

We anner bought a replacement striker in but we anner weaker due to the ones we've got rid of, In fact it's given us scope to improve

Losing players who werent good enough, but leaving a gap to replace with better is fine by me.

Good workout. Read nothing into it other than the Bags will have a tough season . Miss of the pre season by Benji. No physio on all game and few fouls . Sat with 2 Baggies fans who didn't know 3 of their players . Fair result overall.

Well IMO another good work out. 2 differing sides for Vale again tonight, one each half and it shows we now have cover for most positions, except for the Pope.

 

Marshall will be a favourite, I'm convinced and he will prove a more than adequate replacement for JMW. Midfield looks solid with variations available to Micky and it's pleasing to see how much Lloyd and Smith are coming along. Big Sam is going to give Neal a tough time for the Goalie position and I can see him being there on Saturday. Pity about his kicking though sometimes!

 

Back to the serious stuff now and Division 1. The bookies have us 3rd favourite to go down they're having a laugh! Suggest we all get some dosh on Vale as we are going to surprise a few. We are far better equipped(other than up front/goalscoring section)than last year and see where did we finish then?

I think O'Connor has the potential to match Lofts goals tally,his chip over the keeper that hit the bar was class and going off the 2 games I have seen Marshall in he could match JMW tally too,i aren't that worried now tbh
