Talking about right backs, Christian Ribeiro has been released by Scunthorpe. There fans seem disappointed but his release probably isn't down to ability but more so that he had a falling out with them over an injury i believe. I'd take him at Vale anyway because he is certainly better than Yates or Duffy at right back BUT we could do better...

Yes but in the championship. Out of them, Etuhu & McCourt or Lawrence would be very good signings in my opinion! Frimpong has the ability but is a hot head and seems to get worse year after year. The other two i aren't that fussed about.

How on earth can you say Yates needs replacing because he doesn't stop crosses coming into our Box then suggest Dicko should be player of the season? Yet more goals were conceded by his failure to stop crosses.

It is a big problem Dave for us in both full back areas. Where I think Dickinson is better is that he doesn't back off consistantly into his own penalty area to allow dangerous pressure and situations.

Don't be silly. Yates has been great for us. He may not be the best ability wise but always puts in a decent shift. He was excellent in league 2 and overall was alright last year and IMO is a good squad player. Dicko is so overrated. He is all effort and little quality. I've said before dicko is alright and I'm happy enough to have him at left back next year, but he's not worth the wage he is on. Think your harsh on Yates and overrating dicko.

Dicko, full of enthusiasm and fight, backs off even more than the Yatsey. Time after time Dicko doesn't force opponents out wide, he allows runners to get close to him whilst he's flat footed and then isn't quick enough to turn to stop that opponent crossing or even running inside him towards the goal area.

 

Don't want this to form a witch hunt against Dicko but imo on the wage he's supposed to be on we don't get moneys worth from Dicko at full back. Would love some of our squad to have the fight Dicko has but let's face it he is not the full article at full back.

Agree with every word,add to this the amount of bookings Dicko picks up and suspensions served and he works out a luxury.

Sometimes 100% effort and passion just is'nt enough.
