Lines is a midfield player who can pass, dictate the play, play a killer ball, a set piece specialist, Vale need him or a player like him.

 

A player like him yes but not him in my opinion. He goes AWOL in too many matches. Last week he made 1 or 2 surging runs- he really does have pace - but how many times have we seen that? Could count them on one hand. If he applies himself and plays to the best of his ability more often than not then great. Otherwise goodbye - rather like JMW really.

Much as I like Lee Blakeman, he's now denying on Twitter that he implied Chris Lines might be leaving, when he said "Is he getting ready for his final Vale game".

Lines may leave, he may not leave, who knows? Comentators like to imply they are in the know, maybe got the wrong end of the stick, maybe has had a rebuke, maybe thought better of it, only time will tell.

He's out of contract. In that sense he might be leaving. He might always get a better offer somewhere else.

Lovely moment at the end when Shuker was pushed forward to take the plaudits of the Vale fans then the rest of the players made a guard of honour for him as he walked off the pitch. A nice end to a very decent career.
