Cheers, no surprises there I guess though I would have gone for Birchall over Dodds to give us more cover in midfield.

What sort of team have they put out?

I think Dodds deserves his place after the last couple of performances. I'd have gone with Birch over Tomlin, who I think is truly useless.

Lee Blakeman suggesting that Chris Lines had an unusual number of pats on the back from fellow players at the start of the game, suggesting he may be on his way out of Vale Park.

Why would they be patting him on the back before the game, afterwards I understand. Is it a case of that twonk spouting nonsence again?

It's a matter of opinion. Why indeed, should they be patting one specific player in a way that gets the attention of two observers? It's your call.

Every game I have seen this season (which is the majority) the players go around each other geeing each other up. I heard this commentator mention this again mid-way through the first half and then he said it was total guess work - very professional.

I also heard his comments about backpacking and the fact they were mid-way through the second half in the first half, class above he is

He did give himself a great big pat on the back for all the thanks he's received for doing his job, surprisingly though he didn't say who all the tweets were from, read into that what you will!

Didn't he also get very defensive recently when fans corrected him for referring to Sean Derry and Sean Dyche and sulk a little.

I was really looking forward to listening to my first full commentary of a Vale game this season, its a major let down not having Mick Cullerton on. Get well soon Mick we need you and Radio Stoke's Vale commentary desperately does!

If it's your first full commentary, remember that some of us rely on Lee Blakeman for commentary most of the season. In my opinion (and it's just an opinion, as is yours) he does a good job.

I prefer Blakeman or Bowers commentating on Vale games any day, compared with McGarry or that Collins bloke.

Is the other guy commentating Phil Bowers, he's not bad? Better commentating certainly. For me Blakeman isn't focusing on whats actually going on at the game.

The guy who really impressed me was the guy that did half of the commentary on the Shortwood game, very professional.
