I'm afraid I agree, positionally Sam has issues and this led to goals on Tuesday night.

 

Whilst he has the potential to be a decent keeper we need to remember his age and lack of experience.

 

League One is far more difficult than league Two and he will struggle in my opinion, but if we are safe then what's to lose..

I would question the wisdom of bringing in another keeper. We're pretty much safe and we need to blood some youngsters. Sam needs games and this is a good chance for him. In fact, after Tuesday i'd be giving quite a few of the younger lads a go to see if they can cut it given there won't be a development squad next year.

Said it when he played last time, he isn't good enough and I got so many having a go at me. He always looks clumsy and generally looks a pretty poor keeper to me, makes me laugh that some on here believed Celtic were interested and that he could become an England keeper!! Although we might as well pick him, wont go down so give him some experience and hopefully he plays well. Before the Bristol game I said I'd like to see the likes of oniell given a chance and now I would certainly bring a few dev players in.

It's a real disaster to lose Neal - What happened to the Tranmere player who crippled him, WAS he booked for the attack?

Neal is a big loss.

 

It does give Sam a chance to play under relatively no pressure over the last few games of the season. Hopefully he will be better than he was on Tuesday but he was hardly the main reason we lost, that was more about the poor defence (Duffy aside) in front of him.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned already but I dare say we've seen the last of Neal in a Vale shirt. One of the few who will attract interest from bigger clubs in the summer.

We've been in the same situation plenty of times this season when Adams has chosen not to play a keeper on the bench.
