Can we shoot down the Seagulls?

Remember Spurs, Everton home and away and Arsenal home and away we had no chance in those games, its the cup and anything can happen.

I've got my fingers crossed but I can also remember Canvey Island, Enfield, Chasetown and Scarboro, as well as a 0-6 at Aston Villa!

It would be great to enjoy another famous victory but they are very few and far between. I'll be shouting myself hoarse for the lads tomorrow but it's a very difficult game for us and I was simply reflecting the odds at the bookies.

(You missed out the Derby game. That was another cracker. I think the home game against Everton was the best I've ever seen the Vale play)

The Vale side that beat Everton, and drew with Arsenal was far better than this current side.

No disrespect to Micky and the lads, but when Arsene Wenger says that Vale were the toughest team they played in the cup that year, it tells you how good they were. That being said , run the sprinklers to make the pitch even more slick and difficult, and maybe Hugill will score in the 84th min. to win it for Vale, 1-0. Stranger things have happened.

Team selection will be interesting Tony, but I wonder if Dodds might get a game tomorrow, to strengthen the midfield when we don't have the ball - which will be a lot of the time!

Possibly - Neal; Grimmer, Joe, Robbo, Loft; Birchall, Griff, Lines, M-W: Dodds: Pope.

If we play two out and out attackers it might mean we are vulnerable through midfield.

(I think Arsenal have packed in 60,000 tonight! What we'd give for a draw like that.)

Interesting reading i get the Brighton wont fancy it if its a poor pitch and i would agree if Poyet were still the manager, as it was almost a fineable offence for a player to play a long ball under his management , Garcia on the other hand is rather more of a direct manager and Brighton can get the ball forward very quickly these days whatever team he puts out .

A few things in vales favour no Crofts , Lualua , a few things against , Ulloa should be match fit at last and due a goal if he plays , Orlandi is now fit and a class player in any league and perhaps Buckley will return though as a sub i would think .

The kind of game that would of made for a good tv game but Chelsea v Stoke put paid to that as Chelsea are never on the telly are they .

Tough to predict so i reckon a 1-1 draw

Arsenal always seem to get 60,000,even if there are 20,000 empty seats?

I think their STs include Cup tickets. They quote seats sold, and also have an exchange system. But there were a good number of Sky Blues there, judging by their protest cards.

Whoever gets the first goal will win it.

Agreed - look at Brighton's miserly away goals for and against, their games rarely have anyone scoring 2 or more. So a 0-0 or 1-0 result, but which side gets the 1-0 ? If Williamson starts it will be Vale, and he will score it.
