Latest league 1 home average attendances.

But Wolves make the picture rosy, they contribute 400 of the average attendance at present, but by the end of the season that will be down to 200, assuming Blunts will not bring more than Cov did, and gates stay steady, I expect us to be 450 - 500 down. But who knows a good cup run and PO push could change things.

It would be nice if we could break even, I fear we wont but hope we do, who knows, something extraordinary may happen.

The team needs to deliver to its potential given the wage bill and the budget deficit. A team that is well paid and under performing would soon see attendances slip back under 5000 and then the financial pressure would probably cause a tipping point.

I'd say as things stand, generally, the team is playing above its potential. I honestly can't see Vale ever averaging more than 8k in my lifetime.

I had that thought after seeing there 18k gate, in my book it's the long term affect of their season offer... Once you get a season ticket at that price your more likely to renew and even more likely to encourage friends and family along when prices are so affordable. It's amazing to think hey had c.7k prior to the season ticket offer.

Something for Smurf to Explore by 'speaking' to the Bradford city chairmen me thinks.

Hey, it works for us. Even more so this season. Even though we're currently averaging around 15,000, 4,500 of those fans are paying on the day. Great cash flow for the club.

Always makes me laugh when opposing fans down grade our support prior to the incentive. The last time we averaged 7,000 or less was back in '96. Our two seasons in the Premier League completely expanded our support.

No Prem clubs nearby? Any idea how close we are to Manchester - it's just literally the other side of the pennies.

Leeds? One of the biggest clubs in the country?

Huddersfield - Similar sized fanbase to us only 6 mile down the road.

Bulls Rugby - City fans don't follow rugby or the Bulls for that matter.

Population - Yes, we're a fairly decent sized City, but all that does is breed more glory hunting Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelski 'fans'.

And then we have the large proportion of ethnic minorities in the city, who have no real interest in supporting the club whatsoever.

It's swings and roundabouts for us all. But, for us to pull 16,000+ home fans on three occasions already this season, just goes to show how far the club has come since 3 relegations and 2 administrations in 6 years.

Aye, but does not all the cash you take on match days go to pay the RENT like!?............ :D: laugh:

Having sold our club shop last year for circa £2m, we've saved £365k p/a on that alone. We do still pay £365k a season for the ground, however, the running costs of what we were paying before (£1.2m a season) have more than halved.

Wells is going soon too - :(
