I'm actually extremely disappointed with Normans twitter comments....

If I was purchasing goods off a company and they didn't arrive and they came out with a comment along the lines of "I wish customers would give me a break...the company has far more pressing issues to deal with"...I would be fuming!...I personally do care about the other issues at vale but a lot of people don't and they shouldn't be expected to...They're just a customer paying over their hard earned cash...some of the individuals aren't even vale fans...they've purchased the shirts as presents for relatives. Why would they be interested in the goings on at vale park and the 'other issues'!??

Norman, I've given you nothing but praise since you came to Vale but your comments are ridiculously disrespectful to the people who have paid over their hard earned cash....£55 is a lot of money to some people.

I personally understand if there are logistical issues...however, you can't ask people to 'give you a break' when you are treating customers (not fans...customers) so unprofessionally.

100% agree.

Wonder if we will see Dodo's before the shirt?

Sjoke fans are having a ball at this. Had a picture of a blue footy shirt on my office door this morning - with the words - "Have you seen one of these, paid for but gone missing". It was funny tho.

Can't wait for saturday when Sjoke loose and can get some revenge.

I'm not particularly fussed either. It's a shirt that'll be framed and go on a wall. Granted, the whole situation could have been handled better, but if the £55k received by the club increased our projected turnover and therefore allowed is to sign Chris Lines for example, I can cope with the wait.

See post #147 dated 23-10-13 16:33 - no further response received as yet - will keep you updated

See reply from Estelle Baggley received today, make of it what you will:

Two weeks ago there was a press release announcing that delivery of the shirt would be approximately four weeks so hopefully they will be with us then. I've copied Warren Bennett, Retail and Ticketing, into this e-mail and if there is any updates/changes to what he has advised he will contact you accordingly.

I hope this information is of help and again, please accept my apologies on behalf of the Club and thank you for your patience and support.

This doesn't bother you and thats fair enough...but the fact is no customer should have to wait 6 months from payment without any direct acknowledgement/email/letter/phone call from the seller regarding the situation.

Would your attitude have been the same if V2001

had presided over this utter farce?

I suspect some people would've already begun to boycott the club by now.

They shouldnt have to wait 6 months at all unless they agreed to it

I realise some wont push it and state it doesnt matter... but what if it was a birthday present from say... Next... M&S... stoke city club shop... would we all be as inclined to not bother?... its the principal and the precedent... if simple things arent dealt with what gives us confidence the serious/difficult things are dealt with any differently?... Im not knocking smurf or vale but its this type of thing that helps define what the club is in the public eye... even if most are happy to wait its still a PR mess that could so easily have been avoided.

The only press release that i can think of was when it was mentioned about the £10 voucher.

That was over a month ago (18th September) not two weeks ago...this is the problem.

Someone within the club just needs to take hold of the situation....

Exactly, it's the bad taste that's left that will in fact deter many fans now making any purchases, unless they are there infront of their eyes and worthy of inspection before buying. The WHOLE scenario has indeed alienated many genuine fans, me and my missus included. As my old schoolteacher used to say "could have done better..."

It seems a poor show to me. 1000 shirts sold to a particular group of people, not a random selection of the population, with web sites and local media available for monthly updates as soon as concerns were raised. I do not know the normal lead times for customised shirts, but I would assume some idea of the delivery date would have been given.

Which begs the question. Was the statement released two weeks ago lost in the ether?
