Super Vale away: Officially the best away Support in League 2.

Recommended Posts

As the title says, our away following was best in League 2 last season with an average of 917 Valiants at away games last season.

That figure would probably have ranked in the top 6 in League 1 aswell!!

Overall, there were 1,000+ Vale fans at seven away League games last season (8 if you include the 3,300+ that went to Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

Hopefully we can match that figure next season and expect bumper away followings at places like Wolves, Crewe, Shrewsbury, Coventry and Walsall and Notts County to name but a few.

Super Vale away. Ole ole.:onthego:

Don't understand the link there mate?

You are telling me Vale fans would rather pay circ £50 to go an away match where none of the money goes to the club they support, but not buy an ST or pay on the day for home games where all the money goes to the club?

I also don't think it will be a simple 'take it or leave it' with nothing between an ST and pay full price on the day.

Sadly, I can see more going away due to the season ticket "interest-con".

Are you for real? Wycombe away cost me £40 fuel, 2 tickets at £35, and the food on the way down and in the ground came to £20.

First home game next season is costing me less than £14.

We will take more away next season, most of the league 1 teams are closer thn thy were in league 2?

It will also depend on how successful Vale are. One of the reasons for the fantastic away following was that there was little chance of seeing Vale lose. Only 4 games all season I think. It might change if we lost 3 or 4 away games consecutively.

We'll still take loads to localish games regardless of our League position imo.

Under Glover's time in charge a few seasons ago and we were in the bottom half of League 2 we were still taking 1,000+ to Shrewsbury and over 1,500 to Chester etc, plus the usual sell outs at places like Macclesfield and Crewe.

I can see what you're saying though for the long distance games, where sometimes our away followings aren't brilliant if we're not near the top of the table.

Oxford gave it a go early on but most of their games away were down south.

We are who we are and we have a history of taking a big away following wherever. This latest news is ................................... EXPECTED:yes:
