Our fans to get hamil end?

Recommended Posts

What are your thoughts on new owners looking at vale fans getting the hamil and away in bycars. Or even railway been debated before. I would be for leave it as is but wondered what your thoughts were. Remember. The atmosphere was good though on the two occassions i can remember us having the hamil end Also in bad weather we talk about making all four sides safe to the public why not just concentrate on the pitch and close two stands.

Its an infringement of business practice and the Police can only insist that the away fans use the Hamil if Vale cannot show an alternative safe system.

I have always believed that as 'facilities' are so crap elsewhere in the ground other than Lorne Street that the club should move heaven and earth to get home access in the Hamil.

They could go back into Block C of the Railway but would perhaps be better off in the unfinished section of the Lorne Street.

Having said all that I cannot see why home and away cannot have a share of the Hamil with the partition being placed dependent on the anticipated size of the away following.

Finally, I think the owners should follow the German philosophy and make the Bycars far cheaper than elsewhere in the ground but with an age limit.

What is the attraction of the Hamil End. I am well satisfied with the choice of Lorne, Bycars or Paddock. In my opinion there is alot of things at the Vale that are more pressing for the owners than this old chestnut.

Some good points there, Dave. Segregating the Hamil could work... Why not? Gives fans an option of behind the goal viewing, but with better facilities than the Bycars!

Thinking about it, once the lorne st is finished, it would make more sense (if we were to develop) to re-build the Bycars. A smaller stand, cantilevered closer to the pitch. Knock down the family stand and.join it to the Paddock, putting a big screen/scoreboard in that space.

Where is the money coming from. Think our new found freedom is to much for some people, its Paul Wildes for heavens sake not Abramovic.

We always say the Police wouldn't allow it, but what about the set up at Rotherham. Away fans basically have to walk all the way around the stadium.
But what are the alternatives at Rotherham? Surely it will be changed if dangerous, after all it is a new ground and action will have to be taken. Whereas VP has evolved over 60 odd years, and handled 20K crowds with the current arrangements, an excellent case who have to be put to change the Hamil, especially when we now hope for the big games again.

I think the idea is good. When we get a bigger crowd like when Leeds visited when we were in League 1, the atmosphere is more like a home game for them as they are attacking a packed supporting end. Totally daft. We should stick away fans as far away from the ends as possible
