Good point that against team in 3rd position. Need to win at home next week now to consolidate and hopefully the "bad run" is now behind us. Other teams will hit a sticky patch so onwards and upwards.

Rotherham, Fleetwood, Bradford, and Gillingham in the next 7 games. If we are still in the top 3 after that lot then I reckon we must be strongly fancied for automatic promotion.

Interviewer asked him how come McDonald was on the team sheet when Chilvers actually went on - turned out some unnamed person put in the wrong team sheet. Wonder if it was the same person who operates the fax! ;)

Much improved performance today.

 

Neal kept us in the game together with some good goal line clearances by the Vale defence.

 

Burge & Morsy worked well in midfield and Morsy showed what we have been missing for a few matches. Rob Taylor had a decent enough game and hopefully his confidence will build again.

 

Morsy did exceptionally well after been booked in the first half (the right decision as he stopped a Cheltenham breakaway). He was def target by Cheltenham with some 'interesting' tackles presumably to get him to react and get him sent off. Well done for not being drawn into it.

 

Vale held their own in the first half but a Cheltenham goal was no big surprise in the second half. Cheltenham dominated the first 15mins of the second half with Vale getting deeper and deeper.

 

The Cheltenham goal shook Vale into action. A good cross by Taylor, header by Pope saved and Dodds still had plenty to do but put it away well.

The main thing today was to make sure we didnt lose. Now hopefully we can go on and put a few past Wmbledon in what will be a decent crowd i think and cement our place in second going into a tough couple of away games over xmas.
