Many years ago they were a dirty - some would say a very hard team.  Seem to keep that reputation of playing hard and pushing the boundaries.  

Do we have a player called Heneghan? The gormless twerp on commentary called him Heenagan, Henageen, and a couple of others over the course of the evening. He was again a rock for us - and a goal threat and chaos maker on set pieces with his presence. Walters was great - shielded the ball and made them work hard to get it off him, drew free kicks to give us a breather.  He is some player at that age, and I hope he is ours for some time yet, and not on the bench. As for Jay Stansfield, what a nasty little wazzock he is - looking for trouble at the end because he was made to look very ordinary.  And please can someone tell me what Croasdale has for breakfast again? The miles he covers every game to block passes, stop crosses, and break down opposition possession is phenomenal. What an example of a pro footballer he is to our youngsters.

Very proud to be a Vale fan tonight - after our last 2 league results, that was a massive response, and shows how well this squad fights for each other, the manager and the fans. Safe journey home SVA.

He's been involved in 3 of the games so far, was slightly down on fitness at the start of the season too. He is a valued member of the squad and will go far.

That really was a cracking win and a very good performance. Yes, they had a weakened team out but they they still had two full Internationals up top that would be earning far more than we could afford to pay them. Lots of good individual performances, nobody had a bad game. Sets us up nicely going into the weekend game against Reading.

 VALE needed that morale boosting victory. If Laurent Tolaj had a price tag of 1.2 million. Rhys Walters is a potential Premier League player with a price tag of well in excess of 2 million. Vale MUST NOT SELL any more prize assets.

If we had a clinical finisher we would have been top of the league now as well. We have been the better side for the most part in all our games. Hoping we can bring one in this week. This win will help to raise the status of the team and make us more attractive to play for.

Not a fashionable view but I really think Mo will be an asset this season. Maybe a bit down on fitness and confidence but he’ll do for me.

I think its great he is not in the side... Once the transfer window is shut we can get him back onto the pitch, meanwhile we can give the rest of the squad a go...  If we manage him correctly and if he stays fit we will have some big interest in him, I rate him very highly. Perhaps part of managing him correctly is not letting him go for cheap this window 🙂

There’s something very unnerving about progressing in this cup more regularly. I’m absolutely buzzing. Can’t wait for Saturday now.
