Is that just not a way of trying to keep fans off the pitch?

Must be a new thing as didnt recall Exeter having one when we won there in 2022 but Wrexham got one last weekend!

I can see on social media the club asking people to stay off the pitch, and this is a genuine question to people who would go on it, I’m not having a go - for what reason would you go on?

I can understand running on in a moment of sudden emotion like the Swindon play offs, or the Northampton town win years ago (although I personally don’t go on).

Not sure I understand pre planning going on the pitch though when we have already guaranteed promotion. Just seems forced and bizarre to me and will just result in the club being fined.

The stewards at Wimbledon did a sterling job on Saturday. Only one kid got on the pitch and was frog marched off!!

Disgraceful behaviour obviously but 1hr 26 onwards:

Particularly the fining issue - how does that help the Club?

So we're looking at around 12,500 home fans.

This will comfortably be the most home fans we've had at a league game since 14/03/1995, when 19,510 saw a 1-1 draw versus St*ke.

If we're talking all competitions, it'd be the Everton game in Feb 1996 watched by a crowd of 19,197.

As others have said, the growth in our fanbase (or the reawaking of) is Carol's biggest legacy. Any statto's know the last time we achieved back-to-back-to-back 5 figure crowds at Vale Park? My guess is 95/96 (10,800 on Boxing Day v West Brom then 11,947 v Derby in the Jan and the 19k v Everton in Feb) albeit numbers swelled by large away support unlike the current three.

I think it came in because you got  a trophy for getting up via the play offs.
but sod all for being a better team in the automatics.
Trophy’s were given in the Poff finals after the early years when players just wandered about the pitch after the match.

I'm sure Vale didn’t get one when they went up v Bristol kin the poffs

Which suited us as the pub was open

I'm 99% sure you don't get a trophy for finishing 3rd. They had 2nd place trophies for a few years, took them away and then reintroduced them again. Can't complain about any trophy. Just call it a promotion trophy rather than a runner-up trophy. Sounds better!

It'll be three home games in a row over 10k. First time since 1990 for that I think I read somewhere.

Oh yeah that's what you said. On on.

For me the job is only half done....I want the title, I want all the younger supporters to experience something that a lot of us over 70 have never had the chance to see, I want to see us promoted as Champions, to do it at Vale Park would be extra special, however if it fails to materialise then it will still be a match to remember and a celebration,  I'm sure  DM and the players will be professional and want a title on their CV as well, so will prepare accordingly, fail to win and it wont matter at all after the game we will have escaped this awful league, but to finish top of the league would be special to an old codger like me.

With you 100%!  I've not seen it in 61 years.  And I want it to happen!!

Playoffs trophy makes sense at least as you’ve won a mini tournament. Trophy for second makes no sense and is embarrassing tbh. Shouldn’t need a second place tinpot trophy to celebrate promotion.

Maybe it’s because they don’t know which ground take the winners trophy 🏆

I Agree,  If Notts C Win & Bradford & Walsall  both Lose, Notts C could get the 3rd auto promotion place- It also makes Vale Champions !

How much could a championship add to the sale of season tickets . Carol needs all the incentives so just get the win. Everything else is out of our hands....   except the NOISE, that is definatly in OUR hands.
