I think there's way too much of the Shorrock pass. By that point we'd been booting the ball out of defence back to Carlisle for about 15 minutes.  The managerial team must have been shouting at them to try and keep the ball and not just give it away.  There wasn't anything on ahead of him and the pressure we were under was ridiculous.  Yes he messed it up but we were always going to make a mistake just constantly giving them the ball back.

Irrespective of what we think may have been the players instructions there’s a time to play and there’s a time not to. Knowing that comes with experience. He tried to play and maybe shouldn’t have done. On another day they don’t go on and score. But it tells you everything that he got hooked at half time and that’s not the first time DM has had to do that with him.

At the end of the day the though its still in our hands.

He also removed Rhys Walters who was our best player in the first half. He wanted experience and probably like everyone watching feared a drubbing if things didn't get better in the second half, which wouldn't have been good for eithers confidence.  It didn't really get better until we scored against the run of play. Thereafter we were the better side.

It's as clear as day to me .

How can a team not get themselves up for a game v 2nd bottom of league .

Not taking anything away from Carlisle they totally deserved the win .

You work your proverbials off for weeks get yourselves in a terrific deserved position then come our today  lower standards to a Sunday league team for 65 minutes and when turn last 30 show what should have being showed all 90 .

That to me is not a winning mentality

You have had a question asked of you today ,Vale have crumbled  .

Mon we will need deliver a telling performance after that we have now put doubt in majority of supporters .

Down to the players.

We were lazy when we needed be at full pelt and have now opened the door for others

Well said, I couldn’t agree with you anymore.

Moore got it wrong again, tactically out thought by a higher class manager and the players bottled it.

Ex Stoke manager today, Monday we have an ex Crewe manager, surely not, come on Vale.

I don't think it was a case of being out thought tactically, I think it was more a case of them wanting it more than us. I love Garrity but he was poor today and Croasdale had an off day. Byers didn't change much when he came on. Those lot have been outstanding the last few games and none of them turned up today.

I think the most telling stat is that in our last 9 games (including today), in every single match, the team that scored first has won the game!

Bowers said on the radio we have only won once when we have conceded the first goal (Newport at home).

That means in our 21 league wins, we've scored first 20 times, that's a mental stat.

One of them occasional (Port Vale) under performance's today.

They they wanted it more until we finally woke up after conceding 3 goals.

Onto Easter Monday at home against Grimsby who we do owe one to...

We should have a better idea after Monday evening's results.

I think today is case in point as to why we needed to stay grounded after Bromley. It’s why I’ve been doing mental maths all week,

It’s nice to dream but very confident predictions we would win every game, equalling the club’s 125 year old winning streak record, was dreamland. We’ve been up and down this season and it’s only the last few weeks we’ve been truly convincing.

The pressure is on massively. These are 4th tier footballers who’ve been playing at excellent levels for weeks and are due bad days. We had two teenagers in the starting eleven who’ve simply never been in these sorts of games. These players weren’t going to play well forever.

We went away to a packed out ground, a team clearly with something to scrap for, and came unstuck. Despite that, we’re a penalty away from a draw. There’s character to this squad and today will sting.

We’re still OK. I keep expecting Walsall to nick a win, but they genuinely look awful and completely shot. 4 points will be absolutely fine and is completely attainable in the last there. If Walsall are fully finished then we’re as good as up - the only thing stopping us now is if they win more than one of their last three.

I honestly don’t care about the title. Get a win and a draw, get out the league, don’t look back. Dunna panic.

Well said Nips, well said 👍👍👍👍

Thats a Guinness behind the bar for you next time im in Hassle Castle 👍👍💜😁

Cheers Buddy 👍😆

What’s a tad terrifying is that on the 18th April 2022, we conceded three in a loss. We had gone into the game 5 points clear off 4th.

It was the fourth-to-last game of the season and broke a spell of consecutive wins - a spell that had been triggered after defeat away at Colchester in March. Prior to that, we’d been drawing a lot.

We then lost the next two to fall out of the automatic promotion places after looking like shoe-ins with four games to go.

We’ll come out pressing high against Grimsby, and we’ll be fine from there.
