I didn't say it wasn't a pants penalty 🙄

He telegraphed where he was putting it with his run up and body movement

I'm saying he's scored crucial goals at crucial times recently and Mon is absolutely massive now like I said there needs to be a big response from our lads to show us how badly they want this # UTV

I know you didn't say it wasn't a pants penalty.

He's one our most important and pivotal but usually in a positive way...

Anyway, onwards and upwards. It's still in our hands.

I think the most telling stat is that in our last 9 games (including today), in every single match, the team that scored first has won the game!

We never seemed to lay a glove on them first half. They wanted it badly but we helped them with our sloppy passing and inability to keep hold of the ball.

Midfield was an Achilles heel. They were superior to us in the first half. Young Shorrock and Walter's had to be substituted, today was not their platform. Same again for me on Monday, their time will come.

Mitch MOM for me by some distance.

We go again. Let's do this!

Prefer penalties to be belted as hard as possible

I prefer them to hit the back of the net

We’re at least in the playoffs- silver lining and all that.

I can’t be doing with playoffs again. Will send me to the grave. Would be far worse as well having dropped into playoffs from automatics compared to promotion season where it was playoffs or nothing.

This defence is worse than the last promotion team.

Smith and Hall proved they weren’t good enough and they are still in the team.

I have so wanted to see Vale win a league for the first time in my 62 years but it’s now looking doubtful.

Promotion would still be great but Vale are Vale and we all know what might happen but hopefully not.

Smith and Hall were in the last promotion team.....

Doncaster have Colchester at home, Bradford at home, Notts County away

Yes and neither are as good as they were then. They’re good league 2 players. They, and Jesse are not league 1 level

Alan Shearer used to blast them in

He missed the odd few but he always smashed his penalties at pace anyway Todger might get a pen on Mon

And smash it in this time🙏👍  # Go On Vale 👋

Neither is Heneghan with his lack of pace.

Several new centre halves would be required.

Did Garrity go off injured does anyone know? Looked like he did to me. Love him but he’s seriously turning into a crock.

There's not a mathematician scientist on the planet who could determine how Vale will react to today, come Monday.  We are just as ikely to come out an smash Artells mob, as we are to blow it again. Impossible to read the mentality and approach that these players will adopt. Perhaps we are more nervous as fans, than the players will be, but one things for certain and its that anything less than 100% commitment means we'll struggle, big time.  Come on Vale, be professional on every level and get the job done.

Went straight down the tunnel. Don’t remember him being subbed previously for a tactical reason so guess he’s got a knock

It's true but I also think it's always been true that the team scoring first is way more likely to win. 60% of matches finish 0 - 0, 1 - 1, 2 - 2, 1 - 0, 2- 0 or 2 - 1. So the odd of winning if you go a goal down have never been great.

I'm being Polyanna-ish for gallows humour effect.
