One Sheffield Weds social media thread saying Michael Smith in talks with PNE. Lots of chat about him and others that still should be under contract, returning to Hillsborough this season but for the opposition.

From a club whose most accounts showed a loss of 15 million!

Scary thing about that transfer fee is that Huddersfield are in the same league as Vale and it highlights the money required to buy a proven striker at this level.

Make or develop our own. Spread the scoring about.

Its probably why there is continued noise every 6 months or so about whether Robbie might put money in, tbh.

The bubble is at its limit though I think, just can't see it exponentially increase money wise the way it has been.

£1.2m for a 32 year old is wild.

The "we need a proven goalscorer" brigade will hopefully understand what it costs to sign a "proven" goalscorer.

We're playing a different game to about 70% of L1 in the transfer market.

It's not 70% but there are maybe 6 clubs paying crazy money. Some can afford it. The others are gambling big time.

That gives us transfer security as well as for the player (want to buy him? He’s on a long contract so it’ll not be cheap!) , so a good move all round.
