Honestly incredible. I've been told all summer about this £20m they're getting from Aston Villa for this 16 year old with a handful of sub appearances.

 

Is there another fanbase who consistently overrates their players by such a huge margin? 

 

Sidibe £20m. Shawcross for England. Butland number 1. Vidigal had it for a while last season. Badou Ndiaye? Imbula...Remember when Peter Etebo won the golden boot, the golden gloves and the Ballon D'or as Nigeria won the world cup the summer he signed for stoke.

 

I know we're mostly all starry eyed delusional idiots who pay far too much money and invest far too much emotion in this game, but to be wrong on a players value by a factor of 10-15 is genuinely mind blowing.

 

It'd be like us on here thinking we'd get about £15m+ for Tolaj. That's what we're dealing with.

Think it's just a symptom of them supporting Stoke to be honest. If you're of a certain age, you remember Stoke often being in the top division before the fall down the leagues. 

And if you're younger, you remember the recent PL years and both of those give you a sense of entitlement. Don't think there is any serious self awareness of many of them of just how unfashionable their club is, which is why they just overrate themselves so much. 

I will say Vidigal looked good when he started, since he performed on his debut and scored on tv I think it was. But downed tools, attitude issues or whatever means they all hate him now. 

They have managed to build themselves a club with a bunch of players none of their fans can relate to either. A lot of foreign mercenaries who aren't really all that good. 

The players that Stoke could possibly relate themselves to they barely give a chance to and can't keep them anyway. Do think they are probably a good shout for relegation again this season.

They're all permanently miserable, haven't enjoyed three consecutive games of football in close to a decade, booing the players twice a week, 'losing me love for the club int eet, not going again', taking part in a mass boycott of games (looks very effective on the telly tbf, brilliantly organised), hate Peter Coates, hate John Coates, hate Walters, hate Sandra the Tea Lady, hate Nello, hate the hippo fella and his good wife, hate Gudjon Thordason, hate whichever poor schmuck has the reigns to the dugout for this 6-month cycle, hate the squad which is definitely the worst ever, boo boo boo!...

but every player is worth £15m+ and selling them for any less warrants storming the incinerator and chasing Peter Coates out of town again.
