Brighton perhaps not happy to trust us after Jenson Weir?

Or maybe he wants to play in the championship and not league one ?

Are you saying he was mis-managed at Vale ?

I get he was in a terrible side but other than 20 minutes at Reading before the abandonment he was as a weak as p**s, another in a list of truly appalling loan signings like Gore and Lopata etc etc.

Didn't stop Brighton loaning us BBB.

And Man City, Chelsea, United etc. aren’t bank rolled either?

Of course. But they have a much bigger base, assets and fanbase in the first place. If you stripped away all the owners loans from these clubs, they'd still have the biggest income. Their income is supplemented by their owners, whereas Bournemouth or Brentford's is bankrolled. Without the money they'd be absolutely nowhere near these other clubs.

Is there a Premiership club without very wealthy owners who have put loads of money in to the club, Bournemouth and Brentford tend to sell their better players giving them an income outside the billions splashed out by Sky and other sources.

That's true, but they would still need the massive cash injection on top of that just to tread water. Without the cash, Bournemouth would probably still be in league 1 now, same with Brentford. They sell players but they would never in a million years be able to afford those players in the first place without being bankrolled. They'll sell them for tens of millions but buy them for millions in the first place.

I think Bournemouth only holds 11k fans.

I'm not saying it's right, but coming back to the subject of signing Michael Smith...yes, he's beyond what we could ordinarily afford but when most other clubs are doing it then sometimes if you can't beat them....

By rights, Stevenage and Burton should be playing in the conference at best....they're only here because their turnover is supplemented by loans.

Tolaj being sold? Not played a min if pre season yet?

Don’t know where they stand now but I read an article about 6 years ago, the first time Bournemouth were in the Premiership and they were the 14th richest club in the world. You don’t need massive gates now to have a massive income. Lower divisions are a different matter, it’s only a matter of time before Burton and Stevenage go down.

Burton seem to be perpetually flirting with the bottom 4

Played v Kidsgrove, played 45 mins in the Notts County friendly today. You surely knew that, unless this post was just to stir up <ovf censored>?

He played against Kidsgrove and 45 minutes today

Except when they are up against us, I’ve got a lot of time for Burton.

A town that’s about the same size as ‘Castle, but still supports a successful League team.

Good beer too.
