Summer transfer rumours and speculation

I watched Dundee a few times this season to get a glimpse of Paton and I was impressed with Dalby. He would be an excellent signing for me.

I agree, but I think his form up there will attract the big teams to put in a bid. Maybe not the old firm but Hearts, Hibs or Aberdeen would all be sniffing about him and the Edinburgh clubs will have big budgets.

I’d be surprised if we can afford it. I think it’ll be a case of steady progression and that’ll be a mix of L1 & L2 players, prem loans and maybe the odd player or two dropping down a league. Plus we’ll have a shed a few lads who the manager won’t feel are up to league one.

Buzzwords and phrases  like championship ready and want need expect should never be mentioned again from the club (I think they learnt their lesson) and next season should be about progression and consolidation I think. The problem as always is keeping fan expectations in check, because some are unrealistic.

Championship Ready meant the structure and organisation. Bringing Moore in was a step along the path. People expecting a Wrexham route was  not realistic. Developing players, wheeler-dealing and some luck may do it for us.

I've no idea who DM will bring in ,I've no idea who will be plying there trade elsewhere after sat .

It's good to have a experienced manager in charge, who as won  a promotion with SW out of this league .

It's a good league, and I feel we go into it stronger than last time.

Our Home form will be pivotal to how we do .

There are so e good clubs in league 1 ,but none what have the spending power of a Birmingham/Wrexham...

Vale could well do well, but me I want to see encouragement from the stands ,folk enjoying the games and Vale at full tilt

To do thst probably need 6 players in  and release maybe 4 .

In Moore I trust he has earnt it

It will be interesting as it will come down to budget, its clear we had a very very good budget for L2 so will be down to what Carol does in L1.

Clearly, it meant the organisation of the club, but some fans didn’t take it that way. Didn’t they implement that phrase before Moore came in? But it became a phrase to mock in the end.

That's sad.

Chiz and his dad all but confirming he's offside in this interview. Also confirms we blocked a move for him in Jan

Don’t really get why we blocked a move. He’s not been great this season, and we’ve barely used him since Jan. If we weren’t going to use him we should’ve cashed in.

Yeah it's a strange move. Maybe they thought Rico was going to get recalled and didn't want to take the risk.

Its an odd one saying he is ready to take the step up to the Scottish Premier League... thats about the level we will be playing at in L1 but it hasn't worked out this season and goes with my best wishes, he was a rare shining light in an awful season last season so good luck to him.

Flitcroft was the first stage of re-structuring, started the changes and the rest is well known.

After we played Portsmouth in the relegation season, all the questions that were being asked by Pompey fans were about Chislett. I think Darren has realised his heart isn't in playing for Vale anymore but I'm sure he will only go to the most advantageous bidder, whether for Chis or for Vale.

My guess would be that some club tried their chances and offered a tiny fee or nothing to take him … they would have known he would leave in the summer for free.

The vale would then have thought its better to have him as an emergency and as Walka says there was the potential risk around Rico going back.

Reads like they’re painting us out as the bad guys for blocking the move. The club don’t have to agree to anything, he’s a player we could have needed at an any point.
