Retained lists will start to come out next week i think

As I said earlier in the season, state £20 million or S*d Off, and stick by it.

Lorent is not only a player who can meet the challenge at each new football level to which he rises, he is a player who shows the quality and the sheer excitement to add substantial numbers to our gates.

I’m hoping to watch him in a Vale shirt for years ahead.

Ok!!!!!😁

I can't help feeling that if he likes South Africa that much maybe he should go and play there. I don't see what releasing this story does for him or the Vale. I understand why he hasn't played for a while now. I think it is naive of him to think that all 72 league clubs are suddenly going to play the South African way because he likes it. Thanks for your efforts Ethan, good luck with your new club.

Imagine coming to play professional sport in a country and then complaining because the league is “too physical”.  I’m sure the lower reaches of the bundesliga or the Italian league are no picnic either, and most South American players don’t seem averse to roughing up opponents as well.

His goals against Bradford and Bromley would go flying in League 2 or the Championship 👍

Yeah, given that there is this promotion celebration event on Saturday 10th, it'd be a surprise if Vale announce the retained list before that. (otherwise there may be a few missing faces...or really gloomy players there...that have been released! 😆)

I’d be surprised if we can afford it. I think it’ll be a case of steady progression and that’ll be a mix of L1 & L2 players, prem loans and maybe the odd player or two dropping down a league. Plus we’ll have a shed a few lads who the manager won’t feel are up to league one.

Buzzwords and phrases  like championship ready and want need expect should never be mentioned again from the club (I think they learnt their lesson) and next season should be about progression and consolidation I think. The problem as always is keeping fan expectations in check, because some are unrealistic.

I very nearly didnt reply to this, however.  Two part answer.

1. As I understand it Carol has (verbally) committed to spending £10's of millions to both Port Vale and the rejuvenation of Burslem from the £180m she and Kevin have made on the sale of Synecti Solutions.

2. You mean not have ambition to get up in the Championship but I and many others do.  No one has mentioned the words/terms "Championship Ready" or "WNE" but, just personally speaking, I think ambition is a greatthing to have.

Don’t really get why we blocked a move. He’s not been great this season, and we’ve barely used him since Jan. If we weren’t going to use him we should’ve cashed in.

As I understand it it was where he was intending to go...

Has anyone mentioned Michael Cheek? 23 goals, 7 assists for Bromley this season in 44 games, obviously fit for the season and only 23, great goalscoring record every club he’s been at although they are none league before BromleyDon’t know about his contract situation so will probably come with a fee but I’d like him at the Vale, don’t think wage would be an issue cause surely Vale in a higher division will be a step up from a Bromley player on a contract starting in none league.

Wow. That would be one hell of a family legacy on top of all the community work under her ownership.

So he is….oh well, forget about him then.  Thought he’d been at a lot of clubs.

If Lemmy’s got a statue in the town centre I can’t imagine what Carol/Kevin might get.

It's been clear all season that the Chislett Moore relationship wasn't working; for whatever reason.  Certainly with hindsight he should have been sold in January. I don't think Moore ever trusted him, nor was Chislett enamoured with how Moore wanted to play.

Maybe the offer(s) were either derisory or from a promotion rival?  Maybe Walters emergence as  a key player minimised how much playing time he envisaged Chislett having when making the decision back in January?

How good would that be!
